first day

a/n akaashi's first day!! finally the plot is moving forward a bit lol. 

bokuto-

today is akaashi's first day! i'm really excited to have some help. there's another reason that i'm excited though, he's really pretty.

he doesn't seem like the type to really want to help with animals for minimum wage, but he seems sincere, so it should be fine.

i hear the bell at the front door ding, and i look up to see the pretty face of my newest co-worker. "hi 'kaashi!" i say, excitedly "today i'm going to show you the ropes around here, and i'll  to the animals!"

akaashi looked around, taking in the small shelter, and responded "alright, bokuto-san. that sounds good for a first day. by the way, my friend will be coming in tomorrow, and i was wondering if you could pretend i've been working here for a while? i know suga's coming tomorrow as well, and i already asked him."

this is a strange request, but i think nothing of it, only saying "ok, that's fine! why is your friend coming in the first place?"

"he wanted to see the place, and also he loves cats. by the way, he might spontaneously ask to adopt one. he's... like that sometimes." 

this friend seemed kind of odd, but i'm sure anyone who spontaneously adopts cats can't be bad.

"ok, when's he coming?" 

"he said around two tomorrow."

"ok!"

i pulled akaashi into the back, where all the animals were, and started pointing them out.

"that one is vivi, she's a siamese, and she's very sneaky, so be careful when you try to give her a bath.

"that's kuma, he's a golden retriever. he's super friendly, but he likes to jump a lot, so when you take him out, keep that in mind.

"this is tora, we got her recently, and she was abused by her old owners, so she's still very sensitive to humans. she's a labrador."

akaashi had pulled out a note pad, and he was taking notes. good for him! i think he'll be good at this job, he's been very compassionate, especially to the ones who are still wary around people.

after i introduced him to the animals, he and i talked for a while. it was pretty slow today, so we mostly chatted and took care of the animals.

a/n: sorry this is a short chapter, but i've had very little motivation, and i just wanted to get a chapter out so i don't feel as bad. to the few people reading this, sorry i'm updating slow. love ya, let me know what you're thinking of the story so far.
