a/n i'm sorry to the like three people reading this, i apologize for the shitty quality and late updates. i'm a student trying to maintain perfect grades so my parents don't yell at me, as well as getting a decent amount of sleep (although obviously that doesn't happen, considering it's the middle of the night as i write this lmao). sorry for the rant as well, i'm just tired, so please bear with me.

bokuto-

i was really excited for ice cream tonight. my mom probably wouldn't have let me, but luckily she was out with her friends, and when that happened she usually didn't get home until like midnight. 

it took me forever to decide what to wear. normally i wouldn't be so nervous, after all, i was just hanging out when the some friends. but for some reason, today felt different. maybe i was just flustered, since akaashi was so pretty.

eventually, i decided on black jeans, a hoodie with an owl on it, and a loose jean jacket over the hoodie. after some struggles with my hair, i realized it would be better to just put on a beanie since it looked like it would rain anyway. 

i kept nervously checking my phone for some reason. teru and kuroo has both seemed excited to come, and akaashi... well, he didn't seem like he was a very enthusiastic person in the first place. but it didn't seem like he had any intention of canceling, so i wasn't sure why i was so nervous.

my phone finally said 3:45, so i grabbed my phone and keys, and i left my house to walk to the ice cream place. 

i was almost there, when i felt my phone vibrate. it was a message from akaashi.

akaashi 😁🥺

i'm sorry, bokuto-san, but i just realized you never told me where we are going for ice cream.

me

really?!? i didn't?!? i so sorry! have you ever been to cherry cream?

akaashi 😁🥺

yes, i have. is that where we are meeting?

me

yup! is that ok?

akaashi 😁🥺

that's fine, bokuto-san. see you soon.

for some reason, something about the 'see you soon' made my heart flutter.

"bokuto!!" kuroo's loud voice made me jump. 

i turned to face them, noting that akaashi was standing behind them, along with a short boy with half dyed hair. 

'hey kuroo! i thought you were going to be late!" i got up to join them. "hi teru, akaashi. and i guess you're kozume, right?" i asked the half blond boy. when he nodded, i said "so, what flavor are you getting?"

i got a double scoop, rocky road and raspberry sorbet. kuroo and akaashi both got chocolate, and terushima got strawberry. kenma didn't actually get ice cream, instead ordering a slice of apple pie.

"so, where do you guys go to school?" terushima asked kenma and akaashi.

"nekoma high school. what about you guys?" akaashi responded, as kenma chewed on a big bite of pie.

"fukurodani. wait. i just had an idea." kuroo said, getting distracted, like always. "let's play never have i ever!"
