I ended up telling L everything. From BB's newest victim, to his appearance. It was awkward, but I kept trying to imagine the younger L sat before me, when we would gossip about anything and anyone. It made the whole scenario easier. I ended up sitting beside him. We both crammed onto his single seater. I rested my head on his tucked up knees, finally feeling accepted. Like he'd let me in once again. L continued working and I added my say here and there, but I was more sleepy today. He typed with a singular finger at a time, and arched his arms up high to reach over me. But he didn't shy away from me. When he automatically relaxed his hands on his knees, it was a bit crowded. I smiled and played with a fraying piece of cloth on his sleeve. I felt him watching me, but it only made me feel safer. His finger tapped my nose and I giggled at its cold touch.

"Never move." I whispered. He chuckled.

"Then we shall die here." He replied, a slight smile in his voice. "What comforts you?" He asked. I sat up to see a puzzled look on his face.

"Comforts me?" I didn't know how to respond.

"Yes. I may not know so well of emotions... But... I wish to comfort you." I smiled.

"You need not comfort me L." I turned over and laid the back of my head to his knees. But as he moved, it slipped towards his chest. I traced the line of his jaw with my finger. He gave me a strange look. He copied me. I giggled at his cold fingers, and soon had to push him away. I sat up once again, this time so close to L that our noses almost touched. I looked into his deep black eyes. Eyes I loved. As I had before, I automatically cupped his face. His eyes widened as he tried to shy away from my touch. At first I wouldn't let him, but it reminded me so much of Beyond earlier. When he had forced me to kiss him. That wasn't me, I wasn't Beyond. I hung my head and twirled with one of L's spiky black strands of hair. I felt like Near. I smiled as I worked.

"Does that comfort you?" I asked, as his eyes bore deeper into me. He shook his head. I stopped. And my hopes sank even lower, my smile faltering. He looked somber as he realised how down I was.

"But perhaps, this will comfort you." L awkwardly cupped my face and pecked my lips. It lasted less than half a second, but in that time, he had not only touched me, but kissed me as well. I tasted the chocolately sweetness that rested upon them. My fingers reached for my lips automatically. L stared at his hand. Then he dropped it and looked at me. He licked his lips. "You taste of blood." My beaming light of a smile dimmed. I looked down and cursed B silently. L stood up, and I fell into the seat where he'd been sat.

"Ouf!" I mumbled. L looked over at me. A bundle of limbs in his chair. "Help?" He offered a hand out to me and I took it gratefully. No sooner had I stood, did I tumble into L's chest. I couldn't move. L's hand sat on the back of my head. Again, his movements were awkward. But it was a start. I rested my hands against his chest as he tapped my hair.

"This comforts me. Thank you, detective." I said before pushing away and heading for the bedroom.
