Normal P.O.V~

Lucy's soft golden blonde locks lay comfortably on her shoulders, her head gently rested on the window frame of the cordial train she was so accustomed too. As she sat, lost in her dreams, fine-drawn sunlight crept through the panes of glass and highlighted the captivate look of her kind resting face. Her delicate sun kissed skin beamed in the view of the sunset, soaking up its beauty. Cobra sat across from her, gazing upon her with curiosity. His single eye began to question how calm this girl could be, knowing his past, knowing that on several occasions he had been tasked with killing her and the rest of her fairy tail family. He watches her sleep softly, putting his thoughts at bay as his focus turns to the setting sun outside. Although he isn't technically free from punishment, the pastel pink and orange clouds reminded him of more solace times. Times where he would sit on the edge of the forest with Cubellios and dream about being free from all of his troubles. For someone who appeared emotionless, Cobra cared deeply for his childhood friend, and dreamed of one day finding his loyal snake again.

After a few zoned out moments the train came to a steady halt, causing Lucy to be gently jolted forward in her chair. Knowing that this was their stop, she yawned quietly and looked across to Cobra, who is already out of his seat and waiting for her in the door way of their booth. She hastily grabs her suitcase and they walk off of the train platform together.

She takes a moment to stretch her back and sighs happily, turning to Cobra. "We should go find the mayors office!" Lucy chirps cheerfully. Cobra nods in reply before she takes out a small lacrima from her pocket. In a quick glow, it illuminates with a map of the town, allowing them to easily navigate to one of the largest houses in the area. With a gentle knock a maid answers, smiling and letting them in before giving a nervous glance towards Cobra. "Relax.." he said in his calm, gruff voice. "I'm with her". Lucy looks at him in confusion for a second before snapping back into reality.
"Oh! I forgot you can hear thoughts can't you??" She smiles curiously.
"mhm.." He mumbles in reply.
"Can you read mine??" Lucy beams happily.
"Its not some kinda one off parlour trick, of course I can.." He responds, a bit louder.
"So what am I Thinking now??" She pesters him. He lets out a sigh of annoyance before walking towards her.
"You're hoping that this mission goes well so that you can prove yourself to the other fairy's because deep down you're really insecure about your powers and abilities. You want to prove that you are strong, that you can manage yourself without their help. That you can be just as powerful and independent as your mother was and more. You know that you can, and that you are capable of doing what you set out to achieve, but you never push your boundaries hard enough so you feel like you will never amount to anything great. You know your friends will love you through thick and thin but you cant help but feel like you always let them down...Sound familiar?" He states, with a tone so low it would be on the floor. His lonely eye staring straight through hers whilst their bodies only being inches apart. She stares at him, her body and mind in a state of fluster and shock. She doesn't deny what was said, but appeared taken aback due to how accurate it was. Deep down she did feel like that, she felt like she wasn't good enough for the rest of the team, and was always worried about what they thought of her, especially after the other day at the guild. She looks down and lets out a quiet sigh "It does..".
Cobra backs away from her and gives her some breathing room, giving her a look of understanding. "Listen.." he mumbles, the colour of his voice being a lot warmer. "I don't expect you to take advice from me..I've done some pretty fucked up shit..But if there's one thing I could tell you its not to be so hard on yourself. I must admit, I don't know you very well, but you are truly an amazing wizard. I can usually tell based on a persons aura how talented they are as an individual and you have a lot of untapped potential. so uh..Don't let thoughts like that get to you or whatever.." Cobra walks past her and knocks on the door of the mayors office, quickly dismissing his emotions and putting his mind set back into a working one. Lucy quickly follows behind him, still too flustered to say a word but composes herself.

A few seconds later a formally dressed old man answers the door, "Ah! You must be the mages from the Fairy Tail guild correct?" He asks, his voice containing a small shake of nervousness. "Yes sir that's us! we're here for the job" Lucy responds cheerfully, "Of course of course come in! My names Mayor Cole, Its a pleasure to meet you!" He invites the two of them into his office, looking left and right down the hallway before shutting the door and taking a seat at his desk. "I hope you excuse my panicked state, You see we've been having issues with these bandits for a while now, and rumour is that they plan to target city hall next.." Lucy looks outside, the sun is almost completely set. "I take it they attack at night time then?" She questions.
"Unfortunately yes.." Mayor Cole responds.
"Hmmm, what else do you know about them? has anyone been able to recruit any information on them from previous attacks?" The mayor Nods excessively at her questions.
"Yes! yes! The leader calls himself Kuro Murk, its believed he uses some kind of shadow magic, and can create copies of himself using the darkness which is why we are unclear on the amount of members in his gang. From what we do know he has two unnamed side men, one is a fire magic user and the others magic allows him to travel at lightning fast speeds..Other than that we don't know much else..I'm sorry I couldn't help more.."
Lucy looks at him and smiles "Nonsense! That's helped more than you think." She looks outside, seeing that its slowly getting darker. "We better get going, Plus we need to find a hotel for the night and get set up so we're prepared for the attack". The mayor nods and hands them a room key for a Hotel next to city hall. "I'm very sorry but I could only supply you with one room due to having minimal finances left from the previous attacks. I assure you though you will be paid in full for this though!" Lucy looks at the key and sighs, before lifting her head up and smiling "I understand completely, don't worry. We'll have it resolved soon." The mayor, thrilled by Lucy's promise, wishes them good luck and escorts them out of his office. Lucy and Cobra walk hastily through town to the Hotel and check in for the night. Their room is small, but manageable. An attached bathroom with, to Lucy's dread, only one king sized bed. She places her suit case on the floor and sits down on the edge of the quilt covers.
"Sooo, what you said earlier?" Lucy starts but swiftly cut off.
"Be quiet.." Cobra snaps back. His dragon slayer ears perking up. Lucy watches in curiosity, watching the tips of his ears twitch and his eyes carefully dart around the room. She would think after seeing Natsu's dragon senses in action she would be used to it, But every time she still finds it fascinating to watch.

"We're not alone.." Cobra mumbles stilly, as a dark, ominous chuckle echoes around their hotel room, rolling a silent chill up their spines...
