~Chapter 7~

Chapter 7 here we go!!
Sorry for any typos and spelling errors, I do try to correct everything before I upload!
I'm going through a  bit of a stressful time so I'm trying my best to get these chpters out ebfore i just drop everything again XD

Normal P.O.V~

"We're not alone.."

A low ominous laughter echoes around the room, bouncing off of the walls whilst simultaneously coming from no particular direction. Cobra lets out a rough growl, and his eyes point towards the window shutters, a transparent dark figure darts through them, bursting the shutters wide open and fleeing away, leaving Lucy with an unsettling tickle down the back of her neck. "Pretty sure that's our guy.." Cobra mutters and Lucy agrees. "We should follow it!!" Lucy states, determination in her voice as she remembers Cobras previous words from earlier. He nods and they quickly dart out of the hotel, chasing the shadow into the city square. Lucy rests her hand on her Fleuve d'étoiles, and they both instinctively scan the environment. Out of what appears to be thin air, a tell, yet robust man attracts their focus. His long black over coat ceases to blow so freely in the wind as he pulls down his brown bandanna that was concealing half of his face. Although his features were mostly obscured by darkness, a sinister, grungy smile flashed across his cheeks as he lifted his eyes to meet the pair in front of him. The blonde mage glares at him, waiting for him to make the first move whilst Cobra growls lowly.
From the rooftops 2 other mages dropped down next to him, one dressed in only shorts and sandals and the other in skin tight leather. With her quick thinking Lucy easily determined which mage had which magic, all she had to worry about now was who was going to make the first move. She glances over to Cobra and he nods, reading her thoughts.
Within seconds they both lunge into action, If they can take out the two side men separately, they could easily take out their leader together. Lucy heads straight towards the fire mage, knowing she has had past experience dealing with them due to excessive training with Natsu and Happy. Her whip equipping from her belt and unleashing a powerful jet of water, in response he sends a wave of vibrant green fire towards her; Only for Lucy to cut straight through it with her celestial whip. After dodging his flame attacks and a few hits and swings, she makes her move, kicking her opponent in the back of the knees and hitting him on the head with the base of her whip, rendering him unconscious. She smiles in confidence and looks over to Cobra who has already defeated his opponent and is proudly standing over him. "I suppose he would've had a lot of practice with speed mages after having Racer on his former team" Lucy thought to herself. "Pretty much.." Cobra replied, glancing over to Kuro who seemed taken aback by their swift victory over his two most powerful mages. Lucy smiles and cracks her whip on the pavement, causing him to jump out of shock and leap into an attack. With one brisk punch to the gut, Cobra sends him flying into a nearby water fountain, causing him to smash through it. Promptly he stands back up, clapping his hands.
Silently, from the darkest shadows of the towns square, transparent double gangers of himself began to surround the two. The pair stand together, back to back, and watch as Kuro smiles devilishly as the shadowy figures begin to multiply, creating what seems to be a shadow army. To make matters worse, the rest of the bandits from the gang began to flood into the square from the narrow alleys and roof tops. "There must be well over hundreds of them.." Cobra mumbles, only for Lucy to smile. "I have a plan.." He senses her confidence and his arms become engulfed in scales. Lucy closes her eyes and waits patiently, all at once the shadows and the bandits converge on them. In a flash, she whips out one of her precious golden keys and turns to Cobra. "Close your eyes!!! Open!! Gate of the lion!! Loki!!" In an extremely bright golden blitz the lion spirit summons before them. Loki smiles, already knowing her plan and he stands in front of her before she quickly shuts her eyes tight. "LION BRILLIANCE!!". he yells, activating his most powerful spell. Loki lets out a strong chant as an extremely powerful jet of light shoots out from around him, engulfing the perimeter and illuminating the night, causing the shadowy figures to be eradicated whilst blinding the remaining bandits, Once the light dies down Lucy and Cobra open their eyes to find that all of the left over men apart for Kuro were on the ground. "Nice one Blondie! good thinking!" Cobra smiles at her.
"Thanks!" Lucy smiles back softly, and gives Loki a high five, she'd never seen him smile before and seeing Cobra with a grin filled her with confidence. 
As they're distracted Kuro tries to make a run for it, only for Cobra to grab him by his cloak, his sharp, reptilian claws piercing through his hood. Lucy laughs slightly at their fast victory, and with no rush they walk back to the mayors office, delivering Kuro and collecting their reward money; which Lucy beams at with gratitude. 
Shortly later, her and Cobra return to their hotel room together. She looks at him and smiles warmly, "You know, We make a pretty good team!" Cobra nods his head in agreement. "You're not the very talkative type are you?" Lucy questions, tilting her head every so slightly as she sits down on the end of the bed. 

"I guess not.." He mumbles. "Back when-..When I was in the Oracion Seis. There was nothing to talk about, and I saw no point in conversation considering I could hear what they were thinking anyway.." Lucy looks at him, almost feeling sympathetic although she couldn't put her finger on why. "Well, you can talk to me?" she says, softly, Her signature smile appearing on her delicate cheeks.
"I'll think about it.." he answers bluntly, looking her in the eye.
Lucy smiles more, having thought she'd made some progress and opens her suitcase, grabbing a towel and a change of clothes. "I'm gonna go have a shower, Um...." 
"Don't make it awkward..I'll be asleep by the time you get out anyway.."He mumbles, Taking off his coat and shirt in front of her, revealing an array of scars on his chest and abdomen. She quickly leaves the room and walks into the bathroom, putting down her Pjs and towel. Sighing in privacy she rotates the shower faucet, warming up the water as she strips off her clothes. She steps into the shower and lets the falling water run down her body, soaking up the heat of it.
As she stood, blissfully bathing in the sent of her soap, she began to wonder about the Tall maroon haired man in the room next door; When was his last shower? or meal? or drink even? Is that why his voice is always so raspy and quiet?? Her Thoughts were shortly interrupted by a groan from behind the bathroom door.
Sorry. She thought. Too Loud? 
Although she doesn't hear a clear reply back, a muffled "Yes" comes from beyond the paper thin walls of the bathroom causing her to let out a small giggle as she continues her shower. 

Not long later Lucy walks out, having dried herself and gotten changed into her pink silk pyjamas. She gazes across the bed, seeing Cobra lied on his right side ontop of the covers, his shirtless back facing her. In the low light she gets closer, climbing in under the bed sheets. Although it was obvious to her he was asleep, she strangely couldn't get the feeling of awkwardness out of her mind. After all, she should be used to sharing a bed with Natsu constantly sneaking in through her window. Lucy's eyes trail over to Cobras tanned back, although it was dark, her eyes could depict out white streaks woven throughout his skin.

Jesus.. She thought, recognising them as painfully large scars. Cobra lets out a soft mumble as he sleeps, causing Lucy to roll over and face away from him in embarrassment. She'd hate to be caught staring after all. 
Pushing her thoughts at bay, she sighs softly, allowing her mind to slowly drift off into slumber, and carry her into the land of dreams.
