Chapter 14~ Ace POV

Ace POV.

"Argh! I can't do ittttt," Lexi complained. We were in admin doing a few tasks, me and Lexi were doing wires while Tyler was swiping the card.

"What can't you do?" I ask her bluntly.

"THESE STUPID WIRES! I swear my hands are going to fall," she pouts.

"Let me help you..." I sighed. I took her hands in mine and moved her hands connecting the wires. I helped her with 3 of them and she did the last yellow one by herself.

"Good job, high five" I say, putting my hands up super high so she couldn't reach. She jumped and tumbled on top of me.

"Sorry!" She laughed.

"It's fine," I replied, trying not to smile at her.

I saw Tyler was glumly swiping the card over and over again even though he was clearly able to do it the first time. Lexi got off and started to download data across the hall.

"Ty, can you please tell me what's wrong? You look fucking deppressed. Do you need me to kick ass?"

"No," He replies.

"Then tell me what the hell is wrong," I pressed. After 1 long minute he finally decided to tell me.

"Kai."

"Pfttt, everyone hates that kid but himself and Harper," I say, in an attempt to reassure him.

"No, I know," he said bluntly.

"Then what?"

"Harper."

"You're jealous," I stated with a smirk.

"Okay fine I admit I'm jealous, they were fucking making out!" He blurts.

"Knew ya liked Harper. Why didn't you tell me before?"

"N-no reason," he mumbled.

"I still know you're lying but I won't pressure," I sigh. I narrow my eyes as he takes a breath of relief. All of a sudden Lexi barges in, breaking the silence.

"Downloading data takes forever, and you have take out this god damned tablet. It's so annoying," she says in frustration. "Are you guys done here? Where's our next stop."

"I have things to do in electrical. What about you guys?" I murmur, glancing at Tyler.

"Actually I'm gonna head to medbay. I have to scan. See you guys around," he says quickly. He waves bye, and Lexi waves back.

"Tylers acting a little off, am I right?" Lexi asks me.

"Yeah your right. Forget about it for now, c'mon let's go to elec," I responded.

We made our way to electrical to see a dimmed, sketchy, wire filled place. It was a mess.

"Holy shit, this is a reck," I whispered.

"I know right," Lexi replied. We continued walking. It was a pretty big place. All of a sudden an alarm goes off. All the lights go out.

"BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!"

Apparently we are supposed to fix the lights. We go to the front and bust open the panel to where all the wires connect. Lexi and I are almost done switching all the buttons on, but when we get to the last 2, a figure appears. They are holding a knife, and I see their mouth open in a big smile. They have fangs and they are drooling with their big ass sharp ass tongue. I panicked and switched on all the lights and when I looked back, the figure was gone. Well fuck. I guess that's the imposter.

"Hey, hey Ace!" Someone said, clapping their hands in front of my face. I come back into reality and see Lexi frantically shaking me. "Eekk! You're awake! Thank god," she smiles.

"Why do you care," I say in a chilling voice.

"Well wouldn't you care if I looked like I was dying?"

"No," I spat without thinking.

"Oh. Ok then," she said awkwardly, going back to complete the electrical tasks. I quickly followed her.

"Wait, Lexi! Of- of course I would care, I just said that without thinking," I stammer.

"I know Ace, I know. You don't have to be cold around me. You're just hurting, I understand that, ok badboy?" She laughs softly.

"Okay," I reply, stunned that she gets it. I immediately feel a strong need for her. She jumps into my arms and pulls me into a hug. I feel it, it's not a pity hug no. It's a genuine hug.
"C'mon, let's finish these tasks."

"Yep," I say smiling for once at her.
