Lexi POV
I storm to my room. I wasn't even done with my tasks, I was too mad to get anywhere. About 20 minutes later, someone knocks. Softly. I had cooled down so I opened the door. It was Ace.
"Hey Lexi...you good?" He asks sympathetically.
"Come in," I say, ushering him to a chair. He sits down and tilts his head resting it on his arm, crossing his legs. He looks like he just took a shower. His dark hair was ruffled up and his ink colored eyes were slightly dimmer than usual. I felt my cheeks heat up as I stared deeper into his eyes.
"Lexi?"
"Oh, yeah. Sorry," I reply, snapping out of it.
"Are you ok? Also I wasn't rolling my eyes at Harper- was rolling my eyes at Tyler."
"I'm sorry..." I sigh. "I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions."
After I apologized, we didn't say anything else. There was a silence. It wasn't an uncomfortable or awkward silence, it was more of a gentle, peaceful silence. And I didn't feel butterflies around Ace, I just felt calm. Like I belonged, and I didn't need to be anywhere else.
"Is that it?" I ask, breaking the quietness.
"Um, yeah. There's actually one more thing I want to do though," he says, biting his lip.
"Sure, what is it?" I reply softly. He walks over to the bed and plops down next to where I was sitting, leans in and kisses my cheek gently.
"Bye Lex," he says, winking at me, and leaving me speechless.
