Chapter 39

We finally stopped and I felt his hands leave my eyes. I opened them to see the most beautiful site.

'Happy Anniversary baby.' He whispered in my ear.

‘Harry, it’s perfect.’ I breathed. He wrapped his arms around me from behind and kissed my hair as I stared at the picnic he set up.

‘Like you?’ He chuckled in to my hair.

‘Shut up.’ I giggled, blush creeping on my cheeks.

‘Come on then, let’s not stand around all evening.’ He took my hand and led me to the picnic. We sat down on the soft blanket and began eating. He fed my some grapes as I lay on his stomach watching the sunset.

We had the best night. We watched the sun go down and lay under the stars.

‘Piper?’ Harry asked after a few moments of comfortable silence. I lifted my head off his head and looked at him. He sat up, eyebrows knotted together.

‘What’s wrong Harry?’ I stroked some hair out of his face as he refused to look at me.

‘I’m leaving tomorrow.’ He sighed. My heart suddenly dropped and I felt sick.

‘Oh,’ Was all I managed to say. Harry looked up at me with watery eyes.

‘I love you Piper, more than you can imagine, my two weeks are up.’ He whispered. I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face into his hair, while he wrapped his arms around my waist. We stayed like this for a few moments. I pulled away to look into his eyes, his green orbs not so florescent anymore.

‘I guess we knew this day would come around soon.’ I breathed as I looked at the pattern on the blanket, although paying no attention to it. I heard his sigh again. ‘Let’s just enjoy tonight.’ I smiled.

2 AND A HALF YEARS LATER:

I haven’t spoken to Harry for 2 years. We broke up 2 years ago. I’ve not spoken to anyone else back there since then. I guess it’s better that way, but I’m still in love with him. I always will.

I’ve got a new boyfriend now, Ty. He’s nothing compared to Harry, but he keeps me happy. Ty and I have been dating for 6 months now and we’re happy. I’m now a photographer at my Uncle Mark’s shop for photo shoots and baby pictures. I’ve also got him selling some of my other pieces that are hung around the store. My life is coming along pretty nicely to be honest, I’ve got my four best friend; Jade, Kara, Hannah and Lydia. We always hang out at the lake, that’s were Ty and I met and since then we’ve really hit it off.

‘BREAKING NEWS: One Direction have landed in Australia and will be playing concerts in Melbourne and Sydney…’

I switched off the TV and sighed. That’s Harry’s band. He and the boys came third in the X-Factor final’s back in the UK and have now been named the most famous boy band in the world. Jade’s a big fan but knows not to talk about it in front of me; she understands what I’m going through. My other friends are ‘Directioner’s’, as you would call then, don’t know about my past with Harry and talk non-stop about them.

My computer blinked saying I hand a message from my friends. I clicked on it and four different boxes popped up on my screen showing the excited faces of my friends.

‘OH MY GOD, DID YOU SEE?’ Lydia shouted down the other line.

‘See what?’ Jade asked, oblivious to why the other three girls were fan-girling and jumping around on their end of the line.
