Chapter 15

We stop just outside the city "Alright we need to siphon the gas out of the cars and stick to two." Rick says Daryl walks off and I put my bags in the car with lori. Walking away from the car I see daryl walk up with the motorcycle. "Okay I hope you know that I'm still riding with you."  Daryl pats the second seat "That's what this is for." I get on the back of the bike wrapping my arms around his torso "Well this is gonna be fun ." I start laughing when he shakes his head "You love me." We drive off with the others behind us. Driving down the empty road I let go of daryl and spread my arms out letting the wind go through my hair. Dad would love to see me on the back of the bike since I was always afraid of it before. We go through a bunch of cars on the highway to find a way for the others to get through.

We turn around heading back to the rv. "You see a way through" daryl nods and motions with his head to follow him. We turn around and show dale how to get through. Looking through the windows I see a lot of dead bodies. Looking behind us I see a bunch of smoke coming from the rv, I tap on Daryl's shoulder "The hose broke again."
We stop the bike and get off walking back to the rest of the group. Daryl and I start looking through cars. I find a pack of cigarettes in an old 2003 chevy impala. I put one in my mouth and dig for the matches in my pocket lighting the stick I breathe deeply. I walk up to daryl and hand him the pack.

I blow smoke in his face making him  look up and try to take the cigarette out of my mouth. I turn around before he can and take another long drag before throwing it on the ground and smashing it. Turning back around I put my hand on his shoulder "Daryl  after everything that has happened I deserved that one."  "Doesn't mean you should be doin it" he grunts "Blah blah blah.........meanie." I say walking away to look through more cars ignoring the others. I find a bag of clothes and I sit down and start looking through them. Beginning to sing a song I lose grip on what's going on around me. "Crawl out of the hole your in, who you are is not who you've been, now's the time to sink or swim, will you fight the tide or get lost within......And I know your feeling low, feel like you've lost control, but the darkness that you know it's not your home and your not alone."

"And all you've wanted was just so much more this world has taken aho-." I jump when I see someone come up to me "Come on get under the car." I lay down and slide under the car "What's go-" Rick covers my mouth and points I look up past lori and Carol and see dozens of feet coming towards us. I move closer to ricks side as he's trying to support his family the best way he can right now. Pulling out my knife I hold it up to my chest just incase a walker falls. I feel rick put his hand on my side, 'If you say anything, I'll kill you' I grind my teeth together.

The last one stumbles by I give a thumbs up to carl who smiles causing me to smile. My smile then fades when I hear Sophia scream and a walker follow her under the car. I move out from under the car and jump over the railing falling down the hill and landing on my stomach.
Rick falls behind me on his back we both stand up and take off after sophia. Stopping we see her running the two walkers on her heels. We run diagonally In the opposite direction. We see the walkers again but not sophia we continue running hoping to cut her off.

Rick runs into her she tries grabbing  his gun "Shoot them." I pull my hunting knife out "No no those walkers on the road would hear it then it wouldn't be just two it would be hundreds." Rick picks up Sophia and we start running again despite my lungs squeezing desperately for air. We run to a river bank and rick jumps in I help ophia down to him.  He puts her down by a collapsed den "I'll stay here and if your not back soon I'll take her back to the highway." Rick nods "Keep the sun on your left shoulder" he says backing up and splashing water I push us as far back as possible. "Come on, you ugly son of a bitch C'mon." A walker falls into the water and I hold on to Sophia hoping to provide some comfort. 

With the walkers gone I start getting out with Sophia behind me, spotting three walkers coming our way I put my hand out stopping her movements. Looking back at her I repeat what rick said "Remember what rick said follow the way we came and keep the sun on your left shoulder." She nods and goes further into the den I whistle making sure the walkers follow me. Two walkers fall into the river I back up still whistling. Once on land I run as fast as I can and stop behind a fallin tree. Pulling my knife out I pick up a rock and throw it. The walker turns to the noise I step onto the tree and jump plunging my knife into her skull.
