"Harry! Inside the Sorting Hat! Ask for help, it'll help you" I shouted, groaning, trying to stand up.
Harry's hand immediately put on the Sorting Hat, his eyes closing for a few seconds, I noticed the Hat starting to contract, my attention changed when I saw the basilisk tail coming my way.
I hurriedly dodged it, barely."Uh, Harry, if you could" Dodge, "Please" Dodge again, "Hurry!" I finished, jumping over the snake's tail.
Harry grabbed the top of the hat to pull it off and felt something long and hard beneath it.
A gleaming silver sword had appeared inside the hat, its handle glittering with rubies the size of eggs.
"KILL THE BOY! LEAVE THE BIRD! THE BOY IS BEHIND YOU! SNIFF - SMELL HIM!"
Harry was on his feet, ready. I smiled, seeing the Sword of Gryffindor in his hands.
But The basilisk's head was falling, its body coiling around, hitting pillars as it twisted to face me. I could see the vast, bloody eye sockets, see the mouth stretching wide, wide enough to swallow, I gulped.
It lunged blindly - I dodged and it hit the Chamber wall. It lunged again, and its forked tongue lashed by my side. Harry ran towards us, raising the sword in both his hands.
The basilisk lunged again, and this time its aim was true, I threw my whole weight sideways and behind the large pillar.
But as warm blood drenched my side, I felt a searing pain just above my elbow. One long, poisonous fang was sinking deeper and deeper into my side and it splintered as the basilisk keeled over sideways and fell, twitching, to the floor.I whimpered, tears immediately gathered in my eyes.
The pain is too much to handle.
I started hyperventilating, I slip down the side of the pillar,
gripping the fang, I bit my bottom lip, and wrenching it out of my side. I screamed.White-hot pain was spreading slowly and steadily from the wound. As I dropped the fang and watched my own blood soaking my robes, my vision started going foggy.
The Chamber was dissolving in a whirl of dull color.A few seconds later, I could see the outline of Harry, his body looking down on me.
I could barely feel his touch."Ivy" His broken voice calling for me, "Ivy! Stay awake, please-"
Suddenly, Fawkes, the bird lay its beautiful head on the spot where the serpent's fang had pierced me.
"Having sympathy for me as I die," I said chuckling, "You were really good Fawkes."
We could hear echoing footsteps and then a dark shadow moved in front of us.
"She's dead, Harry Potter," said Riddle's voice above us. "Dead. Even Dumbledore's bird knows it. Do you see what he's doing, Potter? He's crying."
I blinked. Fawkes's head slid in and out of focus. Thick, pearly tears were trickling down the glossy feathers.
I realized what he was doing."But time to end you Harry," Said Riddle, his focus towards Harry.
"So ends the famous Harry Potter," said Riddle's distant voice. "Harry and his savior alone in the Chamber of Secrets, forsaken by their friends, defeated at last by the Dark Lord they so unwisely challenged. You'll be back with your dear Mudblood mother soon, Harry. . . . She bought you twelve years of borrowed time . . . but Lord Voldemort got you in the end, as you knew he must. . . ."
I could feel the pain slowly leaving, my vision coming better a bit.
But the searing pain on my side is still there.Suddenly, Fawkes stood up, protecting Harry, from Tom.
"Get away, bird," said Riddle's voice suddenly. "Get away from him - I said, get away -"
Harry raised his head. Riddle was pointing Harry's wand at Fawkes; there was a bang like a gun, and Fawkes took flight again in a whirl of gold and scarlet.
"Phoenix tears . . ." said Riddle quietly, staring at my arm. "Of course . . . healing powers . . . I forgot . . ."I slowly stood up, my legs barely holding me up, but for Charlton, I handled the pain.
He looked into Harry's face. "But it makes no difference. In fact, I prefer it this way. Just you and me, Harry Potter . . . you and me. . . ."
He raised the wand -
Then, in a rush of wings, Fawkes had soared back overhead and something fell into Harry's lap - the diary.
For a split second, both Harry, Ivy and Riddle, wand still raised, stared at it.Then without thinking, without consideration, as though she had meant to do it all along, Harry seized the basilisk fang on the floor next to him and plunged it straight into the heart of the book, as Ivy casted a counter spell towards Tom who casted an accio spell.
There was a long, dreadful, piercing scream. Ink spurted out of the diary in torrents, streaming over Harry's hands, flooding the floor. Riddle was writhing and twisting, screaming and flailing and then -
He had gone. Harry's wand fell to the floor with a clatter and there was silence. Silence except for the steady drip drip of ink still oozing from the diary, and Ivy's ragged breathing. The basilisk venom had burned a sizzling hole right through it.Slowly, focusing on my breathing, Harry gathered together his wand, and the sorting hat, while I retrieved the glittering sword from the basilisk's mouth.
