An Awakening
Chapter 1
I was just sitting on the couch, junk food scattered across the room, the stress in my brain. Who would choose to be alone, by choice at that? I have my friends, why don't I want to see them? I did this to myself... I need to take a shower or something to make me feel refreshed.' I get off of the mess I was setting on for the past week and walk to my room. My shirt stinks. I change my shirt into a clean tie-dye one and put my red hoodie on as well and jeans. I walk outside, I need fresh air.
I see little kids running and playing with one another having fun. Not a worry on their mind... I wish I could go back to that time... I move slowly towards the forest, already feeling calmer. Why didn't I do this earlier? I let the sound of birds chirping swallow me. I lessen to every sound. The wind blowing in the trees sticks cracking underneath me, leaves falling from the trees, squirrels preparing food, deer walking, all the sounds I have always loved. Why haven't I done this before? It was always so calming, even when I was 8 I was always walking here, what was the reason I stopped again? Oh.. yeah... I should call Willow to let her know I'm okay. She would want to know I'm not one hundred percent dead! Slowly getting my phone out of my pocket, I dial her number. I prepare myself to get a happy voice for not calling recently.
"Hey, Jake! What's up!? You haven't said anything recently! Did something happen?" "umm not really..." "I can hear your lie from the phone. I'm your best friend! You can tell me anything!" " It's nothing Willow, I just wanted to let you know I'm, I'm still alive! Haha" "You are sure your okay..? You don't sound like the typical bright Jake I know..." "I feel so alone." "what did you say?" "I feel alone. I feel like no one knows me! Your one of the only people who actually talk to me! I'm so grateful for that but... I don't know... I, I just, I don't know. I want more people to talk to..." "Jake... why didn't you tell me earlier?" "I don't want you to worry about me..." "Jake, is there anything I can help with? I know I'm not there right now. If you need me I will drive right there right now." " that would be nice... will you really come over? I kinda really want and need a hug..." "I'll be there in a few minutes." "Thank you Willow, I need this." "No problem, bye Jake, see you in a few"
I close my eyes and see something. I see, a boy? He looks like he is sitting on a tree branch listening to music. He has a baggy red hoodie on, he looks so relaxed. He looks like he would be so soft to get a hug from. His outfit looks so random but good together! Red top, black skinny jeans, and dark blue shoes that have splotches of paint on it! He looks so cute! I open my eyes, and he's gone? No! I try closing my eyes again but I see nothing. Was my drain playing tricks on me? Nonono! Why!? Come back! I need someone...
Just as my thoughts started to calm a little when I got a text from Willow. She's at my house. Well, I'll head back now I guess. As I move back to my house, I see Willow and walk up to her. She looks a little stressed but calm in the same strange way. The moment she sees me, she runs up to me and gives me a hug. It feels nice, I should talk to her more, and not push people away haha... I milled into the hug wishing we could just stay hugging forever when she leaves. "What has been wrong Jake? You have been seeming... out of it recently... No offense but I want to know how to help." "umm," I pause. What was wrong? Why was I pushing her away? We have been friends since forever. I remember the vision if you could call it that and start to replay the memory, daydream? Wherever it was in my head. I smile at the thought and I feel like I need to spill this information all on Willow! She loves this type of stuff!
"Willow, you love weird vision things right?" "You could call it that haha but yeah! But why? You don't necessarily seem like the person to like those things" ''welllll-" ''NO WAY! YOU HAD ONE THAT'S WHY!" "yeahh" "SPILL IT!." "haha ok ok ok!" I remember the boy I saw just a little while ago and start to blush a little. looking back at Willow I see she's as happy as a dog if you gave it a treat and started to explain. "So I saw this boy, and he was sitting on a branch and just listening to music. He had a REALLY big baggy red hoodie on and was just relaxing in the sun" She looked surprised and had a smirk on her face... Willow knew something I didn't know. "What? Did I see something wrong? Or weird?" "oh oh oh Jake! So you are gay/ bi and like boys right?" I was confused. "I mean, yeah but, why..?" "Oh yeah? I am gay... why?" "You saw your soulmate! That is only one of the biggest things to happen in the world! You met him! Congrats man!" "Wait! Really! You're lying! How?" She was smiling just taking in finally knowing more than me in something. "The world decides randomly when two people get to see their soulmates, no one really knows why, it just, you know? It happens. You are so lucky!" "Can you hear them?" "Sometimes, it depends if they are talking when you see them. Although, for some people, they and their soulmate can hear each other anytime in the day. It's like they are in their ear! Not in a creepy way because you can stop them from listening to you and you can stop talking to them when you want. But it's still really cool!"
We talked for hours about the soulmate thing. It seemed so, unreal and fake, but also really real and believable? I had a soulmate!
