Chapter 4 Christmas

Stephanie woke up to a loud banging on her door. She groaned and got up. She opened the door and there stood a very excited Draco.

"It's Christmas! Open your presents before I do!"

"Draco it's literally 6 in the morning!"

"So? You're up already now go get changed!"

She slammed the door and got ready for the day since she couldn't fall asleep now. During Christmas break students are allowed to go home to their families. Daphne, Blaise, Crabbe, and Goyle went home along with most of the Slytherins. Stephanie stayed because of her dad and Draco stayed because his family has many meetings during this time of the year. Stephanie brushed her teeth and put on a green slytherin sweater and a pair of black jeans with black sneakers. She brushed her hair and sprayed her vanilla perfume on her. She then went to the common room and sat on the leather couch next to Draco.

"I already sorted the presents yours are over there."

Stephanie hated that Draco acted immature around her especially when it's his favorite holiday, Christmas. He seemed so childish. She grabbed one of her presents and opened it. It was from Daphne. She got her this lovely emerald green dress. Stephanie loved it. Daphne knew her favorite color was green especially darker greens like emerald. Stephanie opened the next present which was from Blaise. He got her this beautiful diamond necklace that looked like it costs more than the whole Weasley family. From Crabbe and Goyle they got her sweets, mostly chocolate since Stephanie loved it. From her father she received a locket in a shape of a heart. She opened it and it had one picture of her mother and father when they were dating and another picture of her mother and father holding a baby. Stephanie didn't realized she was crying until Draco asked her why she was crying. She showed him the locket.

"A locket?"

"My mom.. There's a picture of her in the locket."

"Oh.. here let me put it on you." He put the locket around her neck and he smiled; Stephanie didn't see him smile. She smiled as well and continued to open gifts. She saw a present that said it was from Draco.

"You got me a present?"

"Yeah."

"Why?"

"Uh.. Father made me. Mother picked it out."

"Whatever." Stephanie opened draco's gift which was a ring. It was a snake ring with two emerald eyes. She was in love with it and immediately put it on. She thanked Draco and put all her gifts away. She came back to him and he grabbed her arm.

"What are yo-"

He started to run with Stephanie to the courtyard. She stared at the scenery. It looked so magical with the snow covering it like a blanket. She was in a state of awe. However her concentration broke when something hit her chest. She looked down. Snow... 'Oh no' she thought. She looked up to see Draco smirking holding another snowball.

"Oh it's on!"

They had a snowball fight. Stephanie kept hiding on one side of the fountain while Draco kept making snowballs to throw at her. Stephanie didn't hear Draco laughing anymore so she got up from her hiding place just to get a bunch of snowballs thrown at her. Draco started laughing again. Stephanie hid and made a snowball. She got up and threw it in Draco's face. She laughed so hard until Draco ran at her and tackled her into a huge pile of snow. They kept laughing at their behavior. Finally, they calmed down. Draco helped her out of the snow. They were both soaking wet so they stopped by the kitchen and grabbed two mugs of hot chocolate. They then went to the common room and sat in front of the fire covered in a bunch of blankets.

"This is probably the only time we'll get along, Malfoy. Don't get used to it."

They had a fun Christmas break. They stayed up until 3 in the morning just talking in the common room every night. Stephanie let Eve roam around the school, notifying Filch of course. Eve hated the winter. She preferred summer more since it was hot. All Eve did was basically stay in the kitchen for an hour or two then retreat back to Stephanie's dorm to hide in her warm blankets.

Eventually break ended and their friends came back showing off their presents. Stephanie was really glad her housemates were back. It's more livelier in the castle now than it was during break and Stephanie enjoyed seeing her friends again.
