You were making your way back to the current base of the Sheep with some loaves of bread tucked into your jacket and your arms crossed in an attempt to hold them inconspicuously. "Hey!" you let out a squeak in shock as you saw a larger man yell at you. You immediately began running away from him and was dismayed to hear him shout, "get (pronoun)!" you must have crossed into enemy territory.
You ran as fast as you could, forgetting about being inconspicuous, trying to get away. There was a group of four chasing after you and it seemed that even with all the twists and turns you were doing, you couldn't seem to lose them. You ducked out of the main streets and into the alleyways. Pushing past hanging laundry and jumping over shrubs and other random pieces of trash. Behind you, you could still hear the men yelling and crashing into everything you had easily avoided.
You dashed from out of the backyards back into the main road and your heart fell into your stomach when you saw two more men standing at the end, blocking your way. You almost felt like puking from the nerves you were feeling and you spun around to see the people chasing you closing in. You tried to back away, but you were pinned by buildings and the members of the other gangs. You were a goner.
But then, there was a glow that appeared under your feet, accompanied by howling wind that tousled your hair around and threatened to take your bread from your grasp. You covered your eyes with your arm as the glow grew brighter and brighter, and you didn't see it, but the other men had also held an arm up against the light and were struggling against the wind. You tried to adjust your eyes to it, you could use this as a distraction, but then you fell.
You let out a scream as the ground beneath you disappeared and you dropped into what had to be another world. When you dropped you fell ungracefully onto your bottom, but it wasn't sore. The land seemed to be comprised of fluffy white clouds with hues of light blue and purple lightly gracing them and giving them color. The sky was a muted baby blue and there seemed to be no sun, but the area was bathed in a soft white.
Did you die?
Warily, you picked up the dropped loaves of bread and got to your feet. Waiting, expecting, someone to appear and attack you. Wherever you were, it was clearly not anywhere on Earth. It was silent, and that (along with being in a brand new world) put you on edge. Either way, you needed to figure out a way to get out. You looked up into the sky, searching for a door, or an opening, or something. You had fallen here right, so maybe there was something up there?
Nothing. The landscape was pristine of anything other than the fluffy clouds. Maybe if you walked around you'd find something. With a determined look on your face, you began to walk through the clouds. The ones near you were luckily not tall enough to block your line of vision, and your feet hardly sunk down into them. If anything, there were little wisps that at the highest would float around your knees before disappearing. But you could see in the distance larger clouds that looked taller than you.
You continued walking through the landscape for who knows how long. It was all the same. Surprisingly, you didn't feel tired at all. Not even thirsty or hungry. Was this heaven?
You noticed something sparkling in the distance, and with renewed vigor ran towards it. When you arrived, it was a lot smaller than you expected. It was about half your height and looked to be a portal of sorts. There was an inner rectangle that looked kind of like glass, and surrounding it was an elaborate silvery-blue frame adorned with delicate swirls and beads. It was indeed sparkling, but it also seemed to be glowing a light blue. You peered through the glass and was shocked to see the scared faces of Shin and Kana looking back at her while knives were held in their hands, ready to attack.
Carefully, you stuck one of the loaves of bread into the glass, shocked to see it go through. It must have been showing up for Shin and Kana because their scared faces transformed into shock. Shin reached forward and when you felt a tug on the loaf of bread, you let go and saw the loaf of bread in Shin's hand. "Not freaky at all." You heard him say.
"Shin! Kana!" you cried out excitedly, maybe if they heard you this was a way out.
"(y/n)?" Kana's voice returned to you in shock, "is that you?"
"I think?" you replied hesitantly, "I don't know how I got here!" you confessed and all the stress suddenly dumped itself on your shoulders, "one moment I was running away from another gang and then there was a bright light and wind and now I'm here and I've been walking around looking for a way out of here but I don't know how I got here and I don't know what to do!"
"Was this bread from you?" Shin questioned and waved the loaf around.
"Yeah."
"I dunno, stick your hand in this weird portal thing?" Shin suggested in an unconvincing way.
"Stick my hand in it!" you couldn't help but shout in fear, "what if it eats me?"
"It didn't eat the bread." He shrugged. Cautiously, you stuck your hand through the glass, it was a strange feeling. It was kind of cool, but it was very soft and silky feeling. You felt a hand grasp your own and your arm was yanked forward and your entire body followed suit. You let out a startled yelp as the landscape around you transformed from the light fluffy wonderland into the Sheep base. "See," you looked up to see Shin's grinning face as he set you down back onto your feet after catching you, "all safe."
Kana was busy examining the mirror, seeing how it wasn't a threat anymore. She tapped on the decorated edge of the mirror, which looked identical to the one you saw inside, and a soft tap resonated from it. "This just appeared out of nowhere." She explained to you, "and you have no idea about this?"
You shook your head, "I was wandering in there looking for an exit, and this appeared."
"I've heard myths," Shin spoke up with a hand placed thoughtfully on his chin, "about the Armed Detective Agency."
"Yeah," Kana nodded as she turned her attention from the mirror to Shin and you, "rumor has it they all have abilities. Are you suggesting this is (y/n)'s ability?" she questioned and gestured to the mirror.
Shin gave a shrug, "I mean, (pronoun) did just appear from inside the mirror." You looked at the portal again and realized that instead of the inside rectangle looking like glass, it looked more like a mirror. It reflected back what was in front of it, but a light blue hue shone over it. But like it was inside the world, it was shining and sparkling.
Without warning, the top and bottom of the mirror came together with a snap and the mirror disappeared, leaving no trace. Kana whirled around to face you with wide eyes, "did you do that?"
You shook your head, "I don't have any control over it."
"This would be so useful in a fight, you could basically teleport." Shin mused with an excited look in his dark eyes.
Kana was quick to give him a harsh glare, "you are not sending (y/n) into a fight." She then sighed and her harsh tone softened, "at least for now."
