Chapter 5

As you do the dishes, Bucky comes up behind you and scares you, you scream, turn around and see him laughing, "Did you have to do that, Im holding a knife, come on, use your head, bad timing." You start laughing. "Well I needed to give us something to laugh about, plus it was really funny." He says laughing. "Har har, soooo funny, you best watch yourself cause you have made a grave mistake Barnes." You say as you wave the knife around and smile. "Im not afraid of you." "Im sorry who kept you alive most of our missions? Who has more confirmed kills? Oh ya that's me, so I'd be scared if I were you." "Didnt think you'd bring all that up haha." "Well I did, now, what were you up to today?" You ask while continueing the dishes. "Just went to get some food and stuff so we can you know, surive here." "Well thank you for keeping me alive oh great food gatherer." You both laugh. Its been months since he saved you from drowning, you have gotten closer to him, you know everything about him there is to know. You two have fun a lot, you have arguments because of habits but at the end of the day you're still friends and care for each other, you protect him and he protects you. When you finish the dishes you sit on the mattress you two share, he goes over and sits next to you. "You ok?" He asks, looking at you. "Ya, just thinking." "About what?" "The train, after the train, everything really." "Oh." "Just wondering what would have happened to us had we not gone on the train, what life would be like, ya know?" "I think about that too, wondered about if we'd live together so you have a home." "That would be nice. Its nice that we're here together, at this point, we need to be together, protect each other, make sure we dont have any episodes." "Ya, are you hungry?" "A little, want me to cook anything?" "Oh please no, I dont need food poisoning again." "That. Was. One. TIME!!!!" You both laugh, you jump on him and hold him down. "I am going to make something and you wint doe from it ok, Ive gotten better I swear." "Fine, if you say so, but if I get food poisoning again, I will never let you cook again, got it?" "Deal." You get up and go to the kitchen to cook something up. After a while, he sits at the little island, you put some food down in front of him. "Eat up." He takes a bite and chews, you stare at him waiting to see his reaction. "This is pretty good." "TOLD YOU SO!!" You laugh and get yourself some food too. You sit next to him and dig in. "Wait you didnt try it before me?" "No." "So, let me get this straight, you wanted me to try it, and risk me dying?" "No, I just wanted you to try it." Lying obviously. "You are such a liar." He laughs. After you finished you bring both dishes to the sink and wash them. "I can help you know." "Ya, Im sure you can, but its fine, Im happy to do it." "Alright, if you say so." When you finish the dishes you go over to him. "Do you ever wish you could go back in time and change something?" "No, I think about it but I never want to change anything." He says. "Why not?" "Well because things work out the way theyre supposed to." "Makes sense I guess but what about bad things that happened to you?" "Still wont change anything. Bad things can lead to good, getting taken by hydra lead me to you and Steve, the train incident lead us to yes, brainwashed assassins but that lead us to live here together and protect each other, the bad can lead to worse but it always ends up leading to something good." He smiles. "You know, that was beautiful, you really know how to make someone understand something, if only that were a job, youd be the best at it." "Thanks." You both laugh, you both sit down on the bed you share and talk for the rest of the evening about fuckall.
The next day you wake up and decide you want to surprise him, so you head out after leaving a note saying you went out and will come back later, you venture to find some stuff to make the surprise. Hours later you come back to the apartment to find him sleeping still, so you go over to where the note was and find it gone. He must have woke up and fell back asle- Bucky scares you from behind, that's getting really annoying. You turn around and scream at him. "STOP DOING THATTTTT" He falls to the floor laughing, you roll your eyes and say, "And to think I went out to get you a surprise, guess you dont get it anymore, oh well." He stops laughing and looks up at you with saddness in his eyes. "You got me a surprise?! I want itt." He starts to whine like a child, making you laugh, he gets up and laughs with you. "So what did you get?" He asks trying to take a peek in the bag, you close the bag to make sure he doesnt look inside."You will just have to wait and find out Barnes, go back to sleep or something." He huffs and lays in the bed. "You're mean ya know, when can I see it?" "When it's ready, duh, what kind if question is that? When can I see it, pfft." You laugh to yourself.
After a while you finish setting up the surprise, "Alright come see." He goes over, his mouth drops to the floor. All his favorite snacks and goodies he told you about. "Thank you so much!!" He hugs you tight, you hug him back and catch a whiff of his scent, it's very pleasant, calming even, you feel so at peace just in his arms, like nothing could ever hurt you. He let's go and looks at you. "I will pay you back for all of this, I swear!" "No need, I wanted to do this because I want you to be happy." You smile at him, he smiles back and starts to show you all the goodies and gets you to try some

*Sorry this chapter took so long to make, I had a lot happen and was not able to continue for a while, had this in the drafts for a while, also I am going to be making 2 other series just because I'm bored and want to keep writing stories, both are stories I came up with, not fanfiction, hope you enjoyed this chapter, I'm going to be making some filler chapters until I can get the next long chapter out of the way, see you guys next time*
