I walked inside slowly, to be greeted by a giant hall. There were marble pillars everywhere. Something else caught my eyes, though. In the middle, was an altar looking table with a giant book on it. The chains seemed to be connected to the book. I stood at the entrance for some seconds, when the chains suddenly began pulling me. Seems like It wanted me closer.
I came closer and closer to the book, It seemed to grow bigger. When I was 2 feet away from it, nothing happened. I stood there for a few seconds, but then It opened itself. It kept going back and forth through pages. The sound of the sheets of paper being rubbed, made me cringe thinking about how much a paper cut would hurt by those sharp edges. I tried stepping closer, trying to read the papers that went by. But It was too fast, and it also looked like there were only scribbles. After some time, It finally ended on a page. Then the book began to shake violently. It would shake more by the second, which made the chains shake too, echoing with the clinging noise. Suddenly, the chains broke into small pieces. When the pieces touched the floor, they turned into dust, and before long, nothing remained of the chains. Yet, the book still shook, almost looking like It was angry. Furious, trying to get the fury out. A beam of light escaped the book, and went upwards. I followed the beam with my eyes, and looked up. My heart sank. What the heck, was THAT?! In the middle of the church's roof dome made of glass, was a giant black heart floating. It was surrounded by the same chains I had on, seemingly to connect to the glass dome... Didn't make It less weird. The light got consumed by the darkness, which made the chains yank into the heart. Some black ooze came from the heart, which melted the ground which it touched. Like acid, pouring from the heart. It still made that heartbeat thump, echoing through the halls of the church. The more I stared at the heart, the tighter the chains came around the heart, and thus more ooze came from it. I took a few steps back in fear, not believing what I was seeing. Then, the books pages began turning again. The echo from the heart almost felt like my brain was thumping. It felt really uncomfortable. Then the book landed on a page, and nothing happened. I waited a few seconds before walking up to the book. This time, It actually had text...
"In order to see the light, we ought to stand in the darkness. Thou who stands in the darkness, sees brighter. But don't let the light fool you, It can blind you."
