Ep 5

Y/N's POV

I shook hands with him. "You can call me 'Kai' now that we are friends!" he said. I nodded. "I am Y/N," I said. "I know. Noona told me," he said. I nodded again. "Well... Y/N, here! Eat this pastry. You will feel better. I am going out to the café! Don't do something stupid!" said Jeongyeon, "And Jongin, behave yourself!"

"Wait!" I said, processing all of this, "What about me? Shouldn't I come to work as well?" "No," said Jeongyeon, "You should stay home. I will tell boss whatever I can think of." With that, Jeongyeon handed me a chocolate pastry and left. I love chocolate! Jongin chuckled as I ate a bit of the pastry and rested my head back in pleasure. "Chocolate is the best," I said. "You behave so much like a kid!" he said. 

I simply ignored him. "Umm... Do you want some too?" I asked, offering him the pastry. "I am not really into chocolate," said Kai. "Oh come on!" I said, holding out the spoon in front of him. He grinned and ate it. We both ate another pastry from the fridge and then sat outside on the sofa, to watch something on the TV.

"Y/N-ah..." Kai said, looking at me. I simply kept on watching the TV. Some music show was going on. "Hmm," I said. "Please don't try to commit suicide again," said Kai in a sweet voice. I sighed and said, "I already told Jeongyeon I won't..." "Not just for her... For me too," said Kai. I glanced at him but he was looking at the TV screen now.

Jeongyeon's POV

 I was pretty worried even as I worked. I just hope nothing happens and Jongin keeps Y/N safe. I know he will since he promised me last night. I am also going to get to Sehun and scold him. I think he told Y/N he loves someone else now... I guess he forgot her, as I thought he would have... About Y/N, she has to try and forget him too. That's where I wanted Jongin's help.

~Flashback~

"How can I help Y/N?" Jongin asked. "You do think she is pretty right?" I asked. He nodded and said, "Of course!" "Then help her forget her ex-boyfriend," I said, "Please do it for me, Jongin... I will let you stay in my house if you do this for me." Jongin thought for a moment and then said, "Okay... But I will do it for Y/N... Because I kind of like her and not for staying here."

~Flashback ends~

Jongin is such a good kid! "Jeongyeon!" called out the boss. "Yes, boss," I said. "You have to do double shift today! Y/N is not here, so you have to fill up for her," said boss. I nodded. I don't mind doing it as long as Y/N can stay home. I do hope she can forget Sehun and get someone who loves her too!

Y/N's POV

"Ugh! What should we do now? I am so bored just watching this music show!" I said. "Let's go out, shall we?" Kai asked. "Sure," I said, "Let me go and get ready in a minute." Kai nodded. I went into my room, changed into something casual and went out with my bag. Kai was waiting for me by the door. "Let's go," he said.

We went to the park for a walk. I took a deep breath. It feels so good to be out in the open air. I was really crazy to try and kill myself! I wouldn't be able to breathe this fresh, cool air if I died. "Kai," I said, looking at him, "Thank you for saving me yesterday." Kai just smiled and said, "I can't just let a pretty girl like you die." I chuckled and said, "Why do you keep on calling me 'pretty'?" 

He took my hands and pulled me towards him. I looked at him nervously. He brought his face close to mine and said, "Because you are really pretty." I pulled back and pushed him back slightly as well. "I am sorry... But I am not interested in you," I told him to prevent any confusions. "I know," said Kai. I looked at him to see him smiling.

I frowned. "Why are you even trying to make a move on me then?" I asked. He shrugged and said, "Because I like you I think." "But it's useless," I said. "Then it's useless for you to chase after Oh Sehun too," Kai said. My eyes widened and I glared at him. "How do you know about Sehun?" I asked. "Noona told me," he said.

I looked away. "I can only hope that he remembers me soon," I said, feeling the tears prick at the corner of my eyes. "Y/N! How is that even fair?! You remembered him all these years and he simply forgot you and you are still stuck on him?" Kai argued. "I love him..." I said, looking at him again. "Are you sure he feels the same?" Kai asked. "He said that he has a girlfriend," I said, looking at my feet.

Kai held up my face by my chin and said, "Then why are you hurting yourself for him?" "I-" I said but he cut in, saying, "Well, here's what I have to say. I will help you to make him remember you." "Why would you do that for me?" I asked, frowning. "Not for free," said Kai, "If he doesn't remember you in a week, I want you to go on a date with me." He winked.

I frowned and opened my mouth to say something but he said, "What? You don't trust your love even that much?" I made a face and said, "Okay! I agree." "Deal?" Kai said, with a smirk, holding out his hand. "Deal," I said. "Perfect!" said Kai, as we shook hands. Then he put his arm around my shoulders and said, "Well! What should we do now?"

"Um... What about going to an ice-cream shop?" I suggested, because I love ice-cream. "Sure, but you are paying," said Kai. "I thought guys usually want to pay," I said. "Well... Not broke ones like me who were kicked out of their house," said Kai, chuckling. I chuckled too and we walked away from the garden to the ice-cream shop, our arms linked. I felt happy around him.
