❝ Love is a gamble, Darling ❞ Narae whispered as she leaned in towards the new boy's ear.
Donghyuck smirked, eyes glistening greed for a split second, ❝ Then I'm all in. ❞
Gambling was like their life and they were ready to go all in just for their...

The hallways lingered with the sense of thrill, each student bustling to get to know the new fishes in their so-called fish tank. Were these students even considered as fishes? What if they were the real sharks in a game? No one knows until the first gamble was hold.
The honeyed-skin boy ambled into the classroom, a gush of whispers flowing in the air as their teacher snapped to contain their eager thoughts. Despite the constant rumors, the boy remained stoic, a menacing gaze set on everyone the moment he arrived.
He saw them as nothing—all useless and without a worth. He was sure enough anybody in the class wouldn't be able to beat him, he wouldn't even give them the hope.
Class went faster than he had imagined. Though learning the subjects weren't much of the student's concern, everyone wanted the time to fast-forward to after all classes, the godly time everyone spent leisurely—well, at least some spent those last hours of school leisurely—not sure about the others.
Eyes trained on the verbose menu of the school cafeteria, he hummed profusely as he picked a snack for the day. After paying for his burger, a younger boy appeared beside him; seemingly taller for his age, scruffy bangs falling over his forehead, and a not-so-familiar face at all for Lee Haechan.
A scowl formed on Haechan's lips, "You again?"
The younger boy gasped dramatically, placing a hand on his chest to feign hurt. "Sounds offensive!" He exclaimed, gaping at the eleventh grader.
"Yeah? It was meant to be offensive." Haechan scoffed out, sounding cocky and irritated. He wasn't pleased to see the boy again—Park Jisung—that was the name of the boy. The only reason why he knew of the boy was because they were oriented at the same time and he didn't like him at all, no matter how cute and innocent he seemed.
To Haechan, knowing all the habits younger gamblers have, it could be that Jisung was one of those who dare to trick the opponent by pretending to be a pigeon but no, this young boy could be a grown natural and that was one of Haechan's dislikes.
"Jeez, don't be such a dick! I just thought we could be friends, since we are new to the school and all!" Jisung grinned widely at his idea, though he has heard a lot about other students wanting to stay away from Lee Haechan, it was the opposite for him. Getting involved with Haechan meant getting involved with the Student Council; after all, all eyes were on him the moment he had arrived. Jisung wanted that. He wanted to get involved. To easily snatch away the throne he must befriend those who own it, he had to familiarize with the environment and the acts of his enemy.
Haechan sighed deeply, tossing his wrapped burger towards Jisung who effortlessly caught the meal. Glancing at the older boy confusingly, he was met with a piercing glare that sent him cowering back. However, the glare instantly washed away as a big, friendly smile crept up his face instead.
Opening his arms towards the boy and suddenly engulfing him in a some sort of bear hug, he exclaimed, "Why of course! Of course we can be friends, little asteroid!" The younger boy flinched, not used with the contact before chuckling nervously, why does he feel uneasy when this was it? Lee Haechan accepted his friend request, shouldn't he be happy? That's what he wanted...right?
Nonetheless, Jisung beamed a smile towards Haechan. "Awesome! Well, I'll get going now, who knows? Maybe I could give one of the students a shot at a little gamble?" He chuckles, saluting at Haechan. "See you around, friend!"
He's totally going to ruin our plan; who knows when will this fucking asteroid hit it. Haechan sneered the moment the young boy left his sight.
What happened to not making any friends? Hello? The plan!
"Shut the fuck up." He said through gritted teeth, "We're still sticking to the plan, I just made...little alterations. What an annoying kid."
"What a fake ass." Someone commented behind him and he couldn't resist the urge to turn around and snarl at that someone. Upon turning around, he meets eyes with a blonde-haired girl who sniggered.
Haechan narrowed his gaze at her, "My ass is not fake," he said, almost emphasizing the word fake, "and you are?" He cocked an eyebrow up, not familiar with her face.
Stop trying to make friends, for fucks sake!
Haechan rolled his eyes, arms crossed as he waited for a response. The girl smiled, "I'm Osaki Shizuko, you must know my twin brother Shotaro! He's the one who showed the new students all around the school, wasn't he?"
Yeah, and he kept telling us to not engage in gambles with others.
"I know that." Haechan murmured, resulting in Shizuko to tilt her head in confusion. "You know what?"
Realizing he said that out loud, he immediately shook his head to brush off that little wandering sentence. "Nothing." Haechan straightened up, "I have to go now. Bye." He said monotonously like a robot, turning around and ushering himself out of the classroom. He had other places to be, well, he did have a plan.
Soon reaching his classroom, he bumps into a known face again. He carried similar features as the girl earlier and Haechan quickly pointed out that this was the twin brother. Shotaro, on the other hand, seemed more delighted that he had bumped into Haechan. "Thank goodness I ran into you!"
"Since first days are typically a half-day, why don't you head home? Here! I brought your bag—" he gets cut off as Haechan hissed, snatching his backpack from the Japanese boy. The latter flinched, eyes growing wide at the force of action. "I- I was just—"
"What the fuck were you going with my bag?"
"A-As I said!" Shotaro almost squeaked, but soon regained his posture, not wanting to be seen as weak. "Why don't you head home, hmm?"
"Didn't you say games are taken place during breaks and after classes?"
"Well...yeah?"
"Then that's exactly why I'm definitely heading home, Osaki-kun!" Haechan said sarcastically but then followed by a breathy and brash scoff. "You think I'd enroll in this school for nothing?" Shotaro shook his head and Haechan smiled, "Good thing you know! Now, move out of the way."
Shotaro hesitated but before he could even prevent Haechan, the boy had already pushed past through him. As he entered the riotous hell of a classroom, a rush of pleasure surged through his whole body as he saw the scene in front of him.
