IN WHICH the first task is beginning
Aubery sat with Hermione and Ron, nervously glancing at the arena.
"Can we sit here?" Seamus questions, Dean at his side.
"Yeah." Aubery smiles, and then the seating arrangement as Ron, Hermione, Aubery, Seamus, and Dean.
Eliza sat right in front of Aubery, and she would look behind her, and engage in lively conversation.
The cannon fires immediately, as Cedric came out. Firing a Transfiguration Spell on a rock, it turns into a dog, and the dragon flies over to it. He grabs the egg, but mid-way, it decided that Cedric was a better snack, and scratched his arm.
Fleur hit it with a Sleeping Charm, but her skirt set on fire when the dragon exhaled.
Krum did a type of curse Aubery didn't recognize, but the dragon stamped around in agony, crushing many of the real eggs.
Dumbledore starts speaking on the loudspeaker. "Three of our champions have now faced their dragons and so each one of them will proceed to the next task. And now our fourth and final contestant."
Harry enters the rocky arena. The crowds are cheering his name. He sees the golden egg sitting alone, and he makes a run for it but the dragon appears. Harry's forced to retreat behind a rock as the dragon flames him.
"Oh no!" Aubery gasps, grabbing Seamus's hand.
Harry stumbles and falls around the arena.
"Your wand harry! Your wand!" Hermione screams.
Harry raises his arm, yelling out a Summon Charm, and summons a broom. He jumps on and flies off, the dragon gives chase. The dragon bursts through the crowd and they look stunned.
The chain breaks off of the dragon, and they fly away.
The crowds are mostly silent, but once they see Harry flying towards them, the crowd erupts into cheers. He goes straight for the golden egg.
The Gryffindor Common Room was full of happy Gryffindors standing around.
Harry is lifting the golden egg, people around him cheering. The Weasly twins have Harry sitting on their shoulders.
"We knew you wouldn't die, Harry." George smiles.
Fred nods. "Lose a leg."
"Or an arm," George says.
"Pack it in altogether," Fred asks.
"NEVER!" The twins say together.
"Go on Harry, what's the clue?" Seamus hands Harry the golden egg.
"Who wants me to open it? You want me to open it?" Harry opens the egg and a loud horrific screech comes out. Fred and George accidentally drop him, and he closes it again. "What the bloody hell was that?"
"Maybe you have to face a banshee next Harry!" Seamus suggests, slight fear on his face.
"Where'd they get a banshee though?" Aubery asks.
"Dunno actually." Seamus muses.
Ron appears in the doorway.
"Alright everyone, go back to your knitting. This is gonna be uncomfortable enough without all you nosey sods listening in." Fred barks, as Harry and Ron go aside. Aubery and Hermione follow.
Ron starts. "I reckon you'd have to be barking mad to put your own name in the Goblet of Fire."
"Caught on have you? Took you long enough." Harry snaps.
"Wasn't just me who thought you'd done it. Everyone was saying it behind your back." Ron says.
Harry rolls his eyes. "Brilliant. That makes me feel loads better."
"At least I warned you about the dragons," Ron says.
"Hagrid warned me about the dragons." Harry retorts.
"Oh no no, I did. Don't you remember? I told Hermione to tell you that Seamus told me that Parvati told Dean that Hagrid was looking for you. Seamus never actually told me anything, so it was really me all along. I thought you'd be alright, you know after you figured that out." Ron shakes his head.
"Who could possibly figure that out? That's completely mental." Harry groans.
Ron nods. "Yeah, it is, isn't it? Suppose I was a bit distraught."
Hermione sighs. "Boys."
After that, however, Ron and Harry's friendship was finally back on track. The squad sat together in the Great Hall, laughing and chatting amiably. The school finally laid off on teasing Harry, but it hadn't stopped though. Harry is looking at Cho. When she looks back he spills drink from his mouth. They laugh at him, as Aubery rolls her eyes, and hands Harry a napkin.
Hermione reads a newspaper. "Look at this! I can't believe it! She's done it again. Miss Granger a plain but ambitious girl seems to be developing a taste for famous wizards. Her latest prey sources report is none other than the Bulgarian bon-bon Viktor Krum. No word yet on how Harry Potter's taking this latest emotional blow."
"Just ignore her," Aubery suggests.
A young boy walks up holding a package. "Parcel for you Mr. Weasley."
"Thank you, Dennis." Ron receives the package.
Dennis Creevey is gazing at Harry.
"Not now Dennis. Later. Go on." Ron ushers him out.
Dennis leaves.
"I told him I'd get him Harry's autograph. Oh look mum's sent me something." Ron opens the package, and takes a maroon thing out. "Mum sent me a dress??"
"Well it does match your eyes. Is there a bonnet?" Harry snickers, grabbing a bonnet out of the package. "Ah-ha!"
Aubery and Harry erupt in laughter, as Hermione rolls her eyes, smiling.
Ron walks over to Ginny. "Ginny these must be for you."
"I'm not wearing that it's ghastly." Ginny scoffs.
Hermione laughs.
"What are you on about?" Ron asks.
"They're not for Ginny they're for you! Dress robes." Hermione says.
"Dress robes? for what?" Ron questions.
