IN WHICH the Yule Ball happens
EACH student of Gryffindor house was assembled in a room, as Professor McGonagall and Filch stood to the side.
"The Yule Ball has been a tradition of the Tri-Wizard Tournament since it's inception. On Christmas eve night we and our guests gather in the great hall for well-mannered frivolity. As representatives of the host school, I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the yule ball is first and foremost... a dance." McGonagall be
Groans emerge from the boys who are listening on. The girls seem a lot more excited, many sitting up. Hermione rolls her eyes, and turns to Aubery, but she finds that her best friend had her eyes on the outdoors, where the Black Lake rippled peacefully.
"Silence. The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the Wizarding World for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you in the course of a single evening besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons. Now to dance is to let the body breathe, inside every girl a secret swan slumbers, longing to burst forth and take flight."
Ron whispers to Seamus.
"Inside every boy, a lordly lion prepared to prance. Mr. Weasley, will you join me." McGonagall walks over to Ron.
"What?"
McGonagall grabs Ron and pulls him up to dance. "Now, place your right hand on my waist."
"Where?" Ron stares dumbfoundedly.
"My waist," McGonagall repeats.
He does so and a wolf whistle comes from the crowd.
"Now bend your arm. Mr. Filch..." McGonagall asks.
The music starts.
"One two three, one two three, one two three."
"Everybody come together."
The girls instantly stand and walk forward, the boys are all still seated. Hermione and Aubery sit awkwardly there, Aubery staring off into space, Hermione preferring her books.
"Boys, on your feet. Miss Granger and Lupin, get up." McGonagall orders.
Neville stands, as Hermione pulls up Aubery.
"If we don't get dates, then we're going together," Hermione says.
"Oh yeah." Aubery smiles, as the two put a hand on the other's waist, and started dancing.
(A/N: Low key kinda skip Hermione and Aubery XD what about you?)
"Miss Granger and Miss Lupin, when I said to get up, it was to make sure that you'd chose a male partner to dance with." McGonagall walks over to the best friends and the Gryffindor's stop.
