"I'm not going to get the job right?"
Lynn walks to the window, looking outside before pulling the curtains shut.
"I wouldn't say," she contemplates, trying to make me feel better but I don't want that now. I want bluntness. "He might employ you."
"Why would any CEO in their right senses employ someone who flipped them off?" Alesia replies sarcastically, flipping the pancakes in the pan before leaning on one hip.
To say Alesia and Lynn are complete opposites. Lynn is calm, reserved and thought while Alesia is someone to not messed with. Wild, careless and always jumping to conclusions. Just one word, reckless.
We were currently having our weekly sleepover and it's at my place this time around. Talk about grown ups still having sleepovers but ever since Lynn, Alesia and I turned to good girlfriends, we've always made it an habit to have sleepovers once a week just to rant about anything wrong with any of us.
With my kids tucked in and the clock reading 12:33 all I wanted to do was drink my worries away and gossip about people.
"Is he still standing outside there?" I ask worriedly, my eyes going from Lynn standing in front of the curtain to Alesia who also shared the same look.
It's currently raining and Lynn's newly appointed bodyguard is standing under it. Completely drenched. We all feel bad for him, especially Lynn which is strange because she doesn't like any of her bodyguards.
"Yes," she slumps on the couch defeated. "He's still standing in the rain."
"Are you going to go call him in or...?" Alesia drags out the question, directing it at both of us.
I shrug, looking at Lynn and her face lights up.
"I can bring him in?" she quips, straightening up looking at both of us.
"He can sleep on the couch..." I suggest and she smiles.
Someone's into someone.
"He can join us in the girl's night," Alesia implies, placing the plates down on the floor where the blankets are. "We need another set of hands after all."
"Okay be right back." Lynn says before dashing out the living room.
"She's so into him," Alesia acknowledges, placing a cut of the pancake into her mouth. "Let's see if he's all that though."
"Yeah," I rub my eyes, opening a can of alcohol. "how's Howard?"
I laugh at my question. 'Hows's Howard?"
"We broke up." she shrugs nonchalantly and I frown.
"What?" I shift to see her face well. "You just started dating was it not last two weeks?"
"Yes," she rolls her eyes, placing her fork down. "He knows how dominant I am and the fucker still tried to tie me up."
"Oh." Figured. "What'd you do then?"
