Gong! I jump off my platform and run straight to the Cornucopia as fast as I can. I can feel the adrenaline coming up. I don't look to the other tributes, but in the corner of my eye is see a tribute falling trough the water. There are holes spread around the ring of water! I keep running as fast as I possibly can. Marcus and I are the first one to reach the Cornucopia. I grab a set of throwing knives and throw the first two to a boy who is running towards me with a small knife in his right hand. They hit him in the chest. The adrenaline kicks in. No time to lose. I turn around and go deeper into the Cornucopia. I smash aside a girl who wanted to get a knife and she lands with her head on a suitcase. No time to see if she's still alive. If she's still alive someone else will finish her off, the painful truth. I walk to the back of the Cornucopia, which is exceptionally large this year. Marcus and Abigail are already taking weapons and just when I take a sword, Jayden runs inside. Abigail takes the bow and the quiver next to her and throws it at him. 'Let's go!' Marcus shouts. I grab another set of throwing knives and run back outside, to the chaos. I stand still and look for Zac. There twice a many people and there is pure chaos! Out of the corner of my eye I see a girl with a knife in her left hand charging at me. On the last moment I dodge her attack and my sword land on her back just seconds later. She doesn't move so I run further into the Chaos. A heavy weight lands on my back but I manage to keep my balance. I ram my elbow into the side of my attacker. A scream, he lets go of me and I let my sword cut into his chest and he falls to the ground. Finally I see Zac. He is holding a small axe and he looks around. I take a knife and throw it at him. It hits him in his left shoulder. He looks at me as I charge towards him but he manages to dodge my attack just in time. I turn around straight away and swing my sword horizontally. He dodges it again! I scream in frustration as the adrenaline goes up even more. He swings his axe at my head but I jump aside and I let my sword swing horizontally again. This time I slice the top of his chest open. He fall in the water and I finish him go with my sword. I take his ax and put it in my belt together with the throwing knives. I manage to run back to Cornucopia without being attacked. Jayden and Marcus have already blocked the entrance and are attacking other tributes. Someone is charging at Jayden but I throw a knife at his head and he fall down in front of Jayden. I hear a scream behind me and I dodge the attack right on time. The girl attacks me again with her dagger. But before she can reach me she falls down with a scream. I'm confused but then I see Jayden with his bow aimed towards the body. I nod at him and I take my position. Abigail and I look to each other and we run towards the remaining tributes. There are only six tributes left on the platform who don't belong to our group. The most tributes already fled. Our whole group is charging at them and I manage to eliminate one more tribute, the girl from 3. 'Did anyone with a target succeeded?' I shout to the group. 'No, he ran away as soon as he saw me running towards him, and with nothing else but a dagger and a small backpack.' Marcus says irritated. 'The coward!' Everybody with a target was able to eliminate it. Except for Marcus. We start collecting the remaining weapons and supplies. And we make sure that we that we check de rest of the bodies. I take a belt with five throwing knives on it and a good sword. I also put the axe I took from Zac back into my belt. 'What do we do with the rest of supplies and weapons?' Clive, the boy from District 2 asks. 'What do you think? Use your brains.' Marcus says. 'I don't know! That's why I ask you!' He replies boldly. 'We hide them you moron.' I say to him. 'What else do you want to do with it? Leave them here so the other can come back to take them?' Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Then it stops. 'Sixteen dead already!' Lara says surprised. 'Yes!' Emirah says exited. 'Now let's hide the weapons already.' We nod. 'Lets put them in the holes. Then you can't see them, and if people fall in they the get wounded or even killed.' Jayden says. 'Great plan.' Abigail says. We collect take the weapons and put them in different holes. And because of the water you can only see them if you stand on the edge of the holes. Which makes them rather deadly. Then we return to the Cornucopia. 'Ok, how do we go from now.' Marcus asks. 'I think we should go north, to those hills.' I say with a serious voice. Marcus and Abigail nod. 'That's a bad idea. We should go south instead.' Clive says. 'And why should we go south? Give me a reason.' I asks him irritated. 'Why not? People could hide in the forest.' He says with an arrogant smile. 'The hills are an excellent vantage point and there is a forest as well. And Marcus and I saw a lot of tributes running towards it.' I say without trying to hide my irritation. 'Do what you want , but I go south. If you want to win you should go with me.' He says with more arrogance than Cato has. Out of nowhere I throw a knife at him. It hits him in the stomach. Everybody rises and draws their weapons. Marcus takes his sword and puts it between his eyes. He falls down to the ground and we all look at each other. His cannon sounds. Boom! 'Did you wanted to finish him Thomas?' Marcus asks me calm. 'No, I just wanted him dead. He irritated me pretty hard.' I say. 'Why didn't you killed him right at the start.' Olivia, the girl from District 2 asks. 'I don't know, he wasn't too annoying, now he was.' I reply calm. 'Lets get back to business. So, shall we go north?' I asks casually. I get a grin from Marcus, Abigail and Caius and they nod. I grin back and we start walking to the hills. We each have a small backpack with food and water and we carry our weapons. I'm not the only one with three kind of weapons. Marcus has a sword, a small knife and spear, and Emirah carries two daggers and a bow and arrow. We don't see any tributes for the first hour but then we hear a scream. 'It came from that direction!' Olivia shouts and she points at the top of the hill in front of us. 'Let's go!' We start running up the hill with our weapons at the ready. 'It could be a trap.' I shout while running. When we arrive at the top we don't see anyone. 'Where are they?' Caius asks in confusion. 'Aaaaaah!' 'It came from there!' Abigail shouts. We start running to the sound and a hundred meters further we see a girl surrounded by three wild boars with two large tusks. 'Help me, please!' She shouts at us. 'Please, help me!' We nod to each other and Marcus throws his spear at one of the boars. Jayden shoots at one of them and I throw a knife at the same one. Just thirty seconds later the boars are dead. 'Thank you.' She says. Her jacket has the number 10 on it. We look to each other and then Olivia jumps forwards and puts her spear into the girls mouth. Then her canon sounds. 'Did she really thought that we would let her live?' She asks to nobody in particular. I shrug my shoulders with a casual look. 'Why would you kill her? We just saved her!' Lara shouts. 'Welcome to the Hunger Games.' Abigail says. 'What do you care? One opponent less, and one step closer to winning.' Ginia says. 'That's the spirit.' Marcus says with a grin. 'Lets go.' We walk further up the hill without seeing anyone else. 'I don't think she was alone.' Jayden says suddenly. 'She had nothing on her, nothing. Maybe her ally ran away.' 'Mmh, you could be right. She had nothing on her, but I think I saw her running away in this direction with a small backpack.' Abigail says. 'I wanted to kill her but then that girl from 11 attacked me.' 'She was also surprisingly close to the Cornucopia.' I say. 'Let's not worry too much about it. She's dead that's all that matters.' I nod at Marcus and we walk further up the hill. After half an hour we take a break. The sun is going down so we make a fire. We eat the food we took from the Cornucopia and we prepare for the night. We light our torches using the fire from the centre. 'Everybody ready?' I ask. Everybody nods so I put out the fire. 'Let's hunt!' Marcus shouts. We laugh and start walking east. This is the part where a lot people back in the Capitol where waiting for, the first night in the arena. I hope that we manage to kill some tributes, otherwise it could affect the sponsor gift we get later in the Games. This is a very important moment. After half an hour we see someone moving in front of us. Jayden taps my shoulder and points to the dark figure in front of us. I stop and tap on Marcus's shoulder. I point at the figure and he warns the other. Jayden aims his bow at the figure and looks at us. Abigail and Augustus nod at him and his shoots the arrow at the figure. 'Aaaah!' Hit! We start running towards him. A female voice shouts. 'Leander!' 'Run Shia, run!' I throw a knife at the girl called Shia. It hits her in the back. 'Aaah! Someone help, please!' She shouts. 'Shia! No! Run, please run!' We arrive at the pare who lay on the ground. They are both from District 3. 'There is no one who is going to save you.' I say without any emotion. I pull the knife out of her back and she screams even harder. 'Stop screaming! you're hurting my ears.' Augustus shouts at her. 'Just finish her off.' I take my sword and put it in the back of her head. 'No! Shia.' Leander shouts at her body. 'I will finish him off.' Marcus says. 'No, please let me live. I can help you find other tributes.' 'You are wounded. You wouldn't even make it one mile.' Emirah says. 'Just finish him off Marcus.' Marcus nods and he kills him with his spear. Boom! Boom! '20 dead, 28 alive.' I say. We see if they have anything on them, which is nothing, and we move on. After just an hour of walking we see a fire. When we come closer we see three people sitting around a fire. Behind them there are at least five wild boars. Marcus signals us to stop. We stoop and wait. The boars are closing in on them and there are even more joining them. The group around the fire still doesn't notice that the boars are closing in on them, ready to attack them. I start counting them and I count eleven wild boars. Then the chaos breaks out. A tribute stands up and turns around. A screams tells us that they see them now. The boars start running towards them and they use their tusks to wound them. The tributes stand us and start attacking them. Marcus signs us to stay were we are. I don't move. They manage to kill almost all of them but the screams tell us that they are seriously wounded. 'Marcus!' Abigail shouts at him. 'Let's go!' We stand up and charge towards the remaining boars and the tributes. Marcus goes straight to the tributes. I charge at one of the boars with my axe and kill it within seconds. When I take the axe out of the dead boar I look up and Olivia is finishing off one of the tribute. 'Well done everyone.' Marcus says. Boom! Boom! Boom! 'Who are this kids?' I ask. We all look at de numbers on the bodies. 'This is not a kid. This is good old James Holton, the Victor from District 7. One of the girls from 5 and the girl from 9.' Marcus says. Suddenly music starts to play. The National Anthem. One by one the portraits from the fallen are shown in the sky. 'How is Maggs still alive?' I ask nobody in particular. Then the portrait from Samantha is shown in the sky. 'Is she dead?' Lara asks me. 'Yes, otherwise her portrait wouldn't be shown in the sky.' I didn't like her that much but I thought that she would survive longer than this. 'Well, that's that. Let's move on.' I say. We start walking but Gaius, Olivia and Abigail don't move. Suddenly an arrow hits me the shoulder and Marcus screams. I turn around and see Gaius charging right at me!
