(Jailynn point of view)

(Four months later)

"How's things with you and Jay?" Erin asked as I walked in the locker room to put my stuff in my locker.
"Good," I replied putting my jacket away
"Just good? Please I known you for what three years? I know the look when someone is in love. That spark is still there isn't it?''
"One we're just friends and two he knows me more then anything. Sure I care for him but he's my friend and my partner." I replied,me and jay were trying to keep our relationship a serect. Our work realstionship and our private realstionship are separate.
"Come on Jai, I know you,I see how you two look at each other. You two are more then 'friends'."
I sighed,"I can't hide anything from you can I Erin?'' I said sitting next to her
"So you are seeing each other outside work?" I stayed quiet,"no way! Your not..."
"No, I mean he is a good kisser we almost got that far."
"Dam girl."
"This stays between us three ok we want our relationship out of work." I said shutting my locker door.
"Promise, he's way better then Zander."
"Dear God if jay found out about that asshole he'd hunt him down trust me I know jay that well. You should've seen him with my boyfriend in the 9th grade, let's just say the sheriff liked me and let him off with a warning. I been through hell growing up but Jay was and still is my rock,he was always there for me, I saw shit that no kid should."
"It was that bad?"
"Yep, jay broke his hand and had to have surgery on it so if you see a scar on his shooting hand that's why. Trust me I got alot of interesting things on Halstead." I teased
"Hey-" jay came in and stopped when he saw Erin sitting beside me
"It's ok Jay,she knows about us,I trust her when she says she won't tell she means it." I said as I saw his stance calm.
"Guys got a call for a domestic disturbance." Adam said popping his head in the room

(Jay's point of view)
"Guys got a call for a domestic disturbance." Adam said walking into the room ,I saw Jai's stance change quick, please not anther espisode.
"Go Erin we'll be right there.'' Jailynn said getting up grabbing her badge and gun then walking out to the desk.

"What do have?" She asked in full cop mode
"Adam thompson,34 year old male, well known drug dealer in chicago." Hailey said putting a picture of him on the board.
"May be armed, shoot first ask later type. Last known address 1939 fifth Ave." Adam continued
"Let's Go get this asshole off the Streets." She said grabbing her coat and walked past me and I had to jog to keep up with her.
"Jailynn you ok?" I asked
"I'm fine Jay," she said not taking her eyes of the road once we parked to keep watch in case Andrews would show up.
"It's just your alittle tense and it has nothing to do with the case I know you Jai, he found you didn't he?" I asked
"No." But she sighed," fine I can't lie to you Jay, he got out of jail the other day. I got a letter from him,saying that i was the one that locked him away, I was ten jay ten fucking years old when he did that to me and mom. How could a ten year old put someone in prison?that's when after you left my mother dated anther guy at first he was good,but a month after my 13th birthday he started doing things and making my mom turn against me. I prayed you came back to save me jay,growing up you were my superman my rock, when you left for the rangers my world fell, I ran away at 13 and that's when hank and camilla found me homeless, if it wasn't for them God knows we're I'd be today. Probley one of those drug dealers we arest." I could tell she was trying to hold back tears," that day when I saw you in hanks office I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, a part of me was pissed but also I was excited to have you back in my life. I can finally feel free and safe."
I grabbed her hand that wasn't on the steering wheel and kissed it "He's not gonna get close to you, your staying with me till we figure this out. I promise you baby, I won't let this bastard get near you,your safe with me baby." My heart broke hearing her story. I never should of left her.

Once we got there me and jai got to the door as she knocked no answer,"so much for a peaceful confrontation." She said standing back before kicking the door down
I sighed Jai you never changed,same ole badass girl,that's not scared to take on anything, the same girl that I fell in love with in the 8th grade.
Once we caught the guy and we got back to the to the station Jai went straight to the rec room to get coffee.
"Ok Halstead,what's on that mind of yours?" Antonio asked coming up to stand next to my desk. Suddenly the little object in my pants pocket came to mind.
"Nothing." I said trying to play it off

"Come on man you have the look on your face that I did when I was gonna-" then it hit,"no your seriously gonna do it?"
I took the box in my pocket and showed it to him," I have to ask hank first you know he's the closest thing to a farther figure she has."
"How long has that been in your pocket?" He asked picking up the ring box and looked at it.

"About four months." I replied
"If you need any help with planning the proposal we got your back." He said before handing me the box back as I put it back in my pocket.
"Have you seen-" Erin came in looking for someone when there was what sounded like a fight.
I took off down stairs to see what the commotion was about when I saw Jailynn's dad and Jai in a stand off she had a gun drawn at him.
"Come on baby it's just me. No need to have a gun pointed at your old man." Her dad said
"No one calls me baby, and you don't have the right to call me that. Why did you come here anyway?" She yelled back
Jai was at the top of the stairs of the building but her 'dad' was at the bottom of the stairs
"What I can't come see my daughter at work?" He said taking a step forward and by now she's in full on flashback mode.
She put her gun on the tigger,"take one more step I dare you. You lost the privilege of being my dad the moment you did that to me when I was 12. Your not my dad unlike you I have people that actually care and love me and treat me like a human and not like a object."
But he didn't stop he just went up to her and grabbed the gun and she wrestled to get it back,I froze unable to move then I Heard a pop.......
