(Jay's point of view)

It was like time froze, the last thing I remember was hearing a gun go off, then adam and erin run after someone. I look down and seeing Jai bleeding the adrenaline kicking in
I ran to her side and putting pressure on her stomach/chest she moaned out in pain, but the blood kept pooling out from between my fingers
"Come on baby please stay with me." I begged trying to hold back tears. She looked up at me coughed as I saw blood come up from her lips,not a good sign,"don't you dare close those eyes Jailynn. Help is coming."
"Jay?'' if I wasn't looking at her I would have missed it,she was fighting for breathe,"I- love you,don't forget that."
"I love you to baby," i said pressing alittle harder to try to stop the bleeding her breathing was coming shorter and shorter,"stay with me Jai, the ambulance is coming." I could here paramedics in the background but my body felt numb.
"Jay, you gonna move," I heard someone say,"Gabby is here, they need to treat her." I know I have to but it felt like I couldn't move I was scared to, I didn't want to let the love of my life die."Jay we have to help her." I heard Gabby's voice and I saw her hand on top of mine.
"I can't,I'm not gonna let her die. Not on my watch." I replied as I felt a tear hit the hand that was on Jailynn's stomach/chest
"She's not gonna die Jay,I promise you that." She replied
The last thing I remember was letting go and letting Gabby take over

(Hailey's point of view)

After they loaded Jai In the ambulance I went over to jay who sat still like a statue staring at his bloody hands.
I went to go sit next to him,"I wanna be there for her. She would be there," Jay said his voice Shakey from crying
"I'll drive you. She's family to us to Jay, she's in good hands." I said rubbing his back soothingly
"So much blood Hailey, I should've stoped him,but I couldn't move. It doesn't feel real,I don't want to lose her-"

Once we got to the hospital, Jay managed to sit on the chair looking at the direction of the doors that lead back to the ER. He still looked like a lost puppy, lost in his head.
"Hows he holding up?" Gabby asked sighing we all felt worried about what happened
"He's a mess, you know how those two are, there best friends. You never see one without the other, he's like a zombie Gabby. I can't imagine how he's feeling." I replied never taking my eyes off him. Chicago has each other's backs when one is down the others are there for them,So the waiting room was filled with people from 51 and pd.
"I know how he feels,when I almost lost Matt, I thought my world was gonna crash in on me. If I didn't have my friends to help me through God knows we're I'd be."

(Jay's point of view)

"Hey Jay? Can I sit next to you?" I heard Gabby ask calmly,I looked at her and nodded. Still not being able to trust my voice,"I've been in your shoes before with Matt, so if you ever need someone to vent to or a shoulder to cry on I'm here."
"Thanks, right know I don't know what or how to feel. I felt like I could've done something but when he came closer to her my mind went blank."
"It's like your mind and body are on autopilot. Trust me I understand. Don't close in on yourself Jay,you have family all around you even if you want someone to talk to,that's what helped me, whenever your ready."
"I just want her to be ok. I should've went to help her she was coming back from a case, but she's stubborn Gabby. But I love her, God I love her she's my world. I knew she was the one the moment in eighth grade when we were in lunch and one of her friends got her lunch money taken from her and in typical Jai fashion took off after him and gave him a taste of his own medicine. Didn't get suspended either turned out the bully was the school owner's son."
"So she was always badass." Gabby laughed
"Since the day I met her, been friends since sixth grade." I replied.
Just then, Will came over to us,"how is she?"
Voight asked
"Shes stable, we lost her twice on the table but she's very lucky. The bullet just missed her heart by a centameter and got her lung so she's on a chest tube to drain out the blood that was leaking into her lung, she's not out of the woods yet but thankfully jay was there. Shes in acoma so it's in her court to heal and come out of this." Will said looking devastated
"Can she have visitors?" Erin asked
"Yes but not to many at once,only two at a time,she's in ICU room 345." He said before walking over to a new patient
"Jay and Gabby go first." Voight said
When we get to the room, I stopped at the door worried about what I'm about to see.
"Take your time Jay," Gabby said stopping at the door
Even outside her door I can hear the vent breathing for her.
I took a breath and walked in, it looked like Jai was sleeping but she has all these tubes and IV lines helping her.
I pulled up a chair and lightly grabbed the hand that didn't have IVs in it,"it's all my fault she's in this position Gabby. If I would've done something to prevent this she wouldn't be like this." I sighed trying to hold back the tears the anger boiling over,"that asshole put her here, he's gonna pay for what he did." I got up and bent down to kiss her forehead, I'm gonna make him pay baby I'm gonna make him feel the pain he put you through.
