"BOO!" HENDERY YELLED UNEXPECTEDLY, a smug smile tugging the corner of his lips upwards as he peeked out from behind a random hallway corner. "mok seonmi! it's been a while. you didn't forget about me, did ya?"

the girl, who was walking by herself with a soft smile on her face, jumped with her heart racing beyond normality. the smile on her face was wiped away immediately, replaced by a startled expression and then a frown. "hendery," she whined. "why'd you scare me?"

"hahaha!" the male laughed. "couldn't help myself!" after not seeing the girl in a while, he desperately wanted to hug her, or at least give her a high five. but with their health condition, they weren't allowed to be close, let alone touching one another. so instead, he admired her from a distance as they walked a few feet apart trough the hallway. "what have you been up to?" he sang, lazily putting his hands into his pockets as he awaited her answer.

quickly, seonmi smiled to herself once more. it was obvious - her actions spoke more than her words. seonmi had definitely been up to plenty, and hendery chuckled as he waited for her response.

"not much," she mumbled, struggling to contain her mischievous smile.

"oh! of all the things i thought you would do, lying was not one of them," hendery dramatically sighed, attempting to tease the girl. "come on, tell me."

"haha, i just said not much... what else do you want me to say?"

hendery chuckled, seeing jaehyun standing towards the end of the hallway with a clipboard in his hands while he talked to another patient. hendery snuck a quick glance over to seonmi, seeing a blush spread on her cheeks as she caught sight of the doctor.

"like how you and jaehyun have been smooching behind the scenes."

seonmi widened her eyes the instant those words left hendery's mouth. when she saw him looking at her with amusement from her peripheral vision, she knew it was too late to pretend like his words weren't true. she couldn't help thinking...

"w-where did you hear that?" she blurted, now avoiding jaehyun's gaze as she and hendery got closer and closer to the spot where he stood.

"hmm, i didn't!" hendery mused. "i just knew."

from jaehyun's perspective, seonmi was blushing because of him, or rather, the actions that they would secretly do behind closed doors. little did he know that she was indeed blushing because of him, but because they'd been found out by hendery.

"h-hendery, i know you love to talk," seonmi winced, "but this once, please please shh!"

hendery suppressed the urge to laugh. seeing seonmi so shy wasn't only amusing to him, but rather extremely adorable. he felt his heart heavy at the sight - her shy eyes and pink blush. seeing seonmi happy was indeed a catalyst for his own happiness, but she liked the doctor. not him.

even though he didn't want to admit it, it really upset him.

he watched from a distance, as seonmi moved closer to jaehyun. he continued reading off of his clipboard, seemingly giving his full attention to his patient before he dropped a hand to his side and swiftly brushed it against seonmi's as she walked past. hendery widened his eyes, frowning slightly at the brief but intimate contact between them.
