The cool wind makes your face numb, as you hold your arms around yourself to shield from the cold.
You sat upon a bench near the back of the school where the garden once was. It began to snow gently, as it was nearing the midst of November. The sun was setting slowly, yet you were still allowed to be outside. You tap your feet in impatience and nervousness as you wait.
Waiting for who exactly?
Earlier, you had slipped Korekiyo a small note, asking him to meet with you later. You wanted to quickly explain how you had felt, pushing it behind both of you. Despite your hopes, you still felt paranoid that he would react rather hostile. You hum quietly, watching the snow fall to calm your nerves.
Eventually, you heard quiet footsteps from behind. You didn't turn to look, for you still were nervous. It didn't take long for Korekiyo to seat himself next to you, as you were able to sense his presence.
You both sat in silence for a bit. This was the most tense you had ever been, and the uncommon feeling had overcome you like a tsunami. You try and sneak a glance from the corner of your eye, only for Korekiyo to lean over, trying to look at you as well.
"Y/n?" He questions while brushing your hair from your face, making you twitch back upright, instead of in a hunch.
*sheds tears while dreaming abt being y/n in this story cuz Korekiyo is just so hot omg*
"So...why is it that you had me come meet with you here?" He asked, the glow of a post lamp illuminating the side of his nearly covered face. Straightening up, you turn to give him eye contact. "I..wanted to tell you something. It may be a bit...weird for me to say and I hope you don't freak out."
"Why would I lose composure over whatever you are to say?" Korekiyo narrows his eyes slightly, furrowing his brows in confusion.
"It's just a bit sudden." You shiver.
"Ah...It is very much fine. I do not mind." Korekiyo said, glancing up at the snow. "Take your time, y/n."
You feel oddly safe, as if your pressures and worries had slipped away.
"I like you." You mumble into your coat.
"Hm? I didn't quite catch that."
"I like you." You say once again, louder. You immediately turn your head away from Korekiyo, as you were too embarrassed to witness his reaction.
"I'm very sorry." You exhale, tilting your head down in defeat.
"I've been observing you a bit myself." Korekiyo turned to look at you in the eyes. "It's not often I meet people whom are a bit different from what I'd normally enjoy spending time with. Not that your anything extraordinary of the sort, but because you are good. Your heart is in the right place, as is everything else about you."
Once again, you feel yourself heating up against the sheer cold, yet you don't cower away from his compliment.
"I appreciate that." You grin. "I assume we're still on good terms, right?"
With that sentence, you noticed Korekiyo had went back to staring at the snow again, causing you to also turn away. For a brief moment, you felt as if he moved ever so slightly closer to you. Turns out, he did, you heart sending into panic.
"Attraction...it's something I find interesting." Korekiyo sighed. "Unlike lust, it is something much much more."
"Like what?" You dumbly ask.
"It's as if you had finally found someone that encapsulates all that you had desired. Everything you have ever admired in humanity. It's beautiful."
You smirk a little, noting how geeky his "beauty of humanity" theory was. Soon you find yourself letting out a small laugh, to which had caught his attention.
"It's interesting how you find this to be a joke." He said, seemingly smiling underneath his mask. "Especially if it does involve us."
Us?
At this point, he was dropping too many hits for you to not be at least somewhat excited. You felt butterflies in your stomach as you gently moved closer, hoping your body language was able to say what you failed to.
You felt Korekiyo slowly shift as well, closer to you.
It was not with words but with feeling that you knew he didn't mind you. Maybe this could be something.
Just as you hoped.
Maybe even better.
You rest your head upon his shoulder and surprisingly he did not flinch, he only hummed in content, pulling the rest of you closer to him.
At that moment, the cold winter night felt as warm and comforting as you did inside. :)
