I didn't have time to stop Aelin. I was too far away that by the time she was no longer in our world I was to late. I would not be without her again. "Elide, you are in charge. Locran, Feynrs, stay here. Rest come with me." With that I jumped into the portal, but not before I saw a small figure run through it.

Passing through the portal was like being nowhere but being everywhere. It's weird. It's cold but also hot. It is black but also white. It's the in between. I searched through the in between For Aelin but I was alone. Then everything just stopped. And I stumbled out onto a ruined city. Scanning the area for Aelin I realized, unlike Ornyth it was larger, no, taller. The buildings seemed to be made out of metal? The city was burning. It lay ruined around us. My gaze landed on Aelin. Well almost. She was human.

Aedion and Manon where already staring and Lysandra quickly realized too. " This shouldn't be possible" Aelin whispered. Before anyone could answer I growled " What the hell where you thinking? Jumping through a goddamn portal!" A bark sounded before she could answer. We all turned in unison to find Fleetfoot barking at us. Lys pursed her lips and Aelin let loose a laugh. I was to pissed to even react.

Aedion abruptly stiffened. Then I saw what he was looking at. The portal had closed. Leaving Aelin, Aedion, Lysandra, Manon, and him stranded wyrd knows where. "Shit." Manon breathed.  Turning on her heal she sent a pointed look to Aelin and growled, " what the goddamn hell have you done?!?" Aelin gave her a crooked smile and stated, " I have no idea."

"Before a brawl starts we should probably get out of plain sight." Lysandra intervened. Grumbling Manon reluctantly agreed and so did Aelin.

Actually paying attention to the area, they took the sight in. The center of town had a column  black smoke risings form the center. Loud wailing noises came from that direction too. There where large flying carriages in the air. There where strange looking carriages on the ground too. The magic the inhabitants have in this city must be very different than that of Erila and Doranelle.

The silence was broken by Aedion "Do we head towards chaos or away from it?" The question was pointed at Aelin who smirked and said, " it's kinda sad you had to ask." With that she started walking to the center of the city.
