2 months had flown by. The whole team met at the airport at 4am. Most people weren't actually to tired to function, we were all so excited for what was to come. We stepped onto the plane thinking this will be the journey of a lifetime. On the flight to have some fun, we took funny photos and videos and exchanged funny stories. Most people slept but the nerves and excitement were rushing through me therefore I couldn't sleep. I had the barf bag at the ready just incase but in the end there was no need for it.

We arrived at the Olympic Village around 20 hours before the Opening Ceremony. This is were all flag bearers from all 208 (approx) countries come and walk around the stadium followed by the rest of the athletes from their country and when the host nation gives us a inside to its culture and what is going to happen during these games. A fellow swimmer was the flag bearer for our county and our team was very proud of that.

Each and everybody from everywhere and anywhere came out walking with pride while the crowd was cheering with joy. I knew I was in for something special. I was waving my smaller version of our countries flag proudly in the air, capturing all the moments to remember forever on my camera. Within a click of our fingers we had arrived back at the Olympic Village. I loved the rooms because of course they were olympic styled. I shared my room with my fellow Lane 4 buddy, whose name was actually Rose. We may sound like rivals but inside we were great friends.

Tomorrow is Day 1 and the swimming starts Day 2, which is also the day of my 200m Freestyle heat. I needed to be on my game.
