oblivion

I looked into the ocean once,
At night
At the plunging depths
and once the sun had retreated from the sky
the ocean was a shifting beast.
and I saw it,
and I wished to crawl into it's oblivion.
to be consumed
to fade away like a breath of air blown away through the wind.
I do not wish for a violent end, I do not wish for a meaningful end.
I wish simply to be absorbed into those waves,
that churning night;
to become nothing but a minuscule creature
compared to the enormity of the ocean.
to be forgotten,
and to fall into the release
of oblivion.
