A long way to ride

To break the tension between the passengers, Earl Connor took a bottle of red wine and asked if someone might want a drink with him. Reluctantly Dr Marija took him up on that offer and took a few sips before returning the bottle. The Earl tried an advancement on the doctor but was quick to be shut down by her.
As they rode along Dr. Peanut was swayed into trading some of his meal for the wine.

While they had a conversation about food and wine Dr Marija asked Mathew if he could show her his mechanical right arm for research purposes. He declined with a simple >>No<<.
Dr. Peanut noticed that and due to his curious demeanor wanted to introduce himself but as hr had done that he pulled on the arm of Mathews revealing the full lenght of the prosthetic. Both Drs took a closer look on the arm and came to terms that this an excellent product that each one of them would want to have for their own.
>>Hey Sir, how mich for that arm?<< asked Dr Marija.
>>I ain't about to give that away, I need it for my work Miss<<
>>How about I take it over night once and look further into it, maybe upgrading it?<< was the question lingering in Dr. Peanuts mouth
>>What? No my hand is perfectly fine the way it is and now let me be<< Mathew turned away from the scientist and the doctor.
>>I'd say you would rather destroy this wonderous arm than upgrade it<<
>>Other than you I actually work with such thing Lady.<<
The doctors had a small argument over if anything happened to Mathew who would get his arm, it ended in a stalemate though.

It also didn't help to calm the situation when Connor started shouting for his butler who ignored him. Nobody wanted to listen to a crazy person like that but what else to do? Dr Marija had an idea. Her idea was to sway the butler to not be pushed around like that but she couldn't find a way to tell him because she feared Connor hearing it too. She thought of making a small hole in the back of the cabin but was shut down by a glare of the detective who again held a cigarette in his hand.

>>Hey, I longed to ask you. But I by any means can't tell you your name unlike those of the others. Do you might want to let in on it?<< Mathew asked the mail man dressed in all shades of pink
>>Who, me? I am mere a mail man. Leonard Valenting D'Angelo, but Valentin is fine. I'm also very sorry but I don't remember knowing your nane either Sir.<<
>>McArson, Detective Mathew McArson. You said you're a mail man if I'm not wrong. Mind telling me where your working area is, I might think I saw someone looking a lot like you in my neighborhood a few times.<<
>>Oh, I work mostly in London and only to deliver packages and letters of love in any form, shape or size. I hardly doubt that if you're from outside London you'd know me<<
>>Guess so, does your line of work also extend to Birmingham?<<
>>Only 2 of our mail man but they usually don't wear what I'm clothed in<<
Mathew nods and starts thinking for a while >>I see. Anyway thank you for the conversation<<
Valentin nods before taking his view back to the countryside wich has a lot clearer sky than the cities.

>>Hey! We'll be there in just a while, so prepare to leave.<< Marc announced.
The talking stopped for a moment before each one again branched into their own conversations. McArthur approached Mathew >>Hey, why are you here? Oh sorry, William Albrecht McArthur, my bad<<
>>Oh, I think I read in the papers about you. A business man coming from the bottom who rapidly rose to the top. I'm here because the host once helped me settle into my new home from where I work as an detective. Without him I wouldn't have gained so much traction as I do now.<<
>>So our cases are pretty similar, he helped me to finance my first bigger projects and for that I'm still in dept with him. It's strange that so many people owe him something.<<
Mathew silently agreed and his thoughts drifted off wanting to learn more about the others origin and why they're here. As he cleared his thoughts he could hear the Earl scream that they're finally in Coverack.

Coverack is a small town with not much new technology hence the clear sky around here. The cottages are still made out of wood with rarely newer materials used. The most modern building might aswell be the well with its automated lift function.
The manor of Mr Arthus was actually a few minutes away from the town on a cliff next to the coast.

The coach is reaching closer to the manor by the seconds and alas it was in plain view. As it came to a stop Marc told the passengers that they finally had arrived.
The air around the manor smelled different from the cities they were used to. It was much fresher and with much more condensation in the air. The city air is nearly drained of all its water.
When they stepped of the carriage they saw a small man standing before the doors of the manor awaiting the guests. As he saw them he started marching their way.
