When Heroes Lives Collide

Chapter 1

The sun shined down on the green grass as the birds chirped too loudly outside of JJ and Will's window. She drowsily woke up and turned her alarm off. Her head was pounding, and her stomach felt like she was going to vomit. As she felt this sensation twirling inside, JJ realized what this could be. Morning sickness. She has been feeling worse and worse throughout the days on the job, but she didn't want the realization to sink in. Will and I have been getting more serious lately. We used protection, how could something like this happen when we've been so careful? It would be a blessing but at the point where I'm at with my career, this is not the greatest time. As she was thinking these thoughts to herself, she looked down at Will. He was sleeping in their king sized bed and didn't have to be awake for another hour and a half. The more she gazed at him, she realized that they would be okay and anything that happens, they'll get through it together. JJ shifted her stare to the clock, and noticed that she only has an hour before she needs to be at work. The ride is about 30 minutes give or take, but she needed to make sure she was definitely on time. There was a new agent meeting the team. "Today will be an interesting one..." she thought to herself as she got ready and walked through the door.

At the offices in Virginia, most of the team was there waiting. JJ pulled up to the parking lot and rushed inside to everyone. As she walked in, the members of the team were scattered at their individual desks. Hotch was at his personal desk, which were up the stairs. Rossi walked in to talk to him about the new agent.

"Hey, Hotch. It's 7:30, where is SSA Scarlet?"

"I told her to get here a little later than all of us. Didn't want her to get too overwhelmed with everyone. She should arrive around 7:45."

"Sounds good. Should we send her upstairs when she arrives?"

"Yes Rossi. Thanks."

Rossi shaked his head as he opened the door and walked out to talk to the team downstairs.

The team's eyes shifted to look at Rossi as he walked down the stairs towards them.

"I'm assuming you were asking about when our new agent was arriving this morning since it is already 7:38" ,said Reid looking at his wrist watch.

"Yeah kid. Hotch said that she will be here around 7:45. He didn't want to overwhelm her with all the agents coming in at all the same time."

Spencer shook his head with a cute smile and decided to pick up a book while he waited. Prentiss in this short time decided to talk to JJ about last night on the plane.

"JJ, can you help me something at my desk real quick?"

She knew where this was going. She was going to be questioned about what was making her feel so ill. JJ wanted to tell someone but she knew she deserved to tell Reid first. He was her best friend and she loved him more than anyone. JJ looked at Emily with a fake smile and said "Sure".

They walked over to her Prentiss' desk and she turned around to look at her friend. "How are you feeling today?" ,she questioned her with a worried tone.

"I'm feeling a lot better than I was last night. Thanks for asking" ,Jareau said as she started to walk away.

"Wait, I'm not done talking" ,Emily said, shocked that JJ would just walk away like that.

"Oh sorry. What else do you want to talk about?"

"Just wanted to say that if you don't feel good you should say something. It could be serious. We can't afford to lose you" ,Prentiss said as she put a hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah, you're right. I will Emily" JJ said as she actually walked away this time.

Prentiss let JJ take a few steps in front of her before she followed her back to the rest of the team. By the time they got back to the other agents, it was 7:43 when SSA Scarlet walked in the FBI office of Quantico. She took the elevator up to the BAU's floor and her strides were filled with confidence. So much so, that even Derek Morgan noticed. She was wearing a dark red shirt that had long sleeves and black pants that were pointed at the knees. Her heels were professional, but also fashionable.
