I never liked coffee but let me just say the smell is immaculate. The only reason I liked going to this Cafe was because their homemade chocolate chip cookies were better than anything I have ever tasted. As I walked in I took in a deep breath of coffee and scanned the crowd.

I spotted Jeremey in his light blue cardigan and flannel shirt. He was sitting on the breakfast nook that was decorated with fairy lights giving it a cozy feel. I took in his brown hair and blue eyes. He was well built but not in complete shape. I smiled at him as soon as he noticed me and began walking towards him.

Well at least I tried to because as soon as I took the first step someone had bumped into me and spilled their coffee all over my white suit. I looked to the culprit not wanting to yell at him because it may have been a genuine accident.

"I'm so sorry miss I wasn't looking where I was going. Let me go get you some napkins" He said.

He had shaggy blonde hair and a beard. He wore an oversized hoodie and ripped jeans that clearly were not his size. As he walked to get napkins I noticed he had a limp and there was something weird sticking out of his waist band but the sweater didn't let me see.

"Evangelica are you ok? You look a mess" Jeremey asked knocking me out of analyzing the man.

"Hi babe!" I reached up to hug him but he made a face that told me not to get him dirty so I didn't. "I'm fine some guy spilled his coffee it was an accident though" I responded.

"Here you go Ms. It really was an accident" The shaggy man came back and gave me some napkins. "Let me get that for you" he said reaching his hand out toward my hair.

He got way to close to me and I immediately became alert. His mouth was near my ear and I felt his disgusting warm breath on my neck.

"I have a gun in my waistband Ms. Grace and  if you do not comply with my direction I will kill everyone in this building including you." He grabbed what he was reaching for taking the straw out that had managed to get to my hair.

My heart could not handle the fear I felt at this moment. My thoughts were clouded by the pure sound of it and I couldn't register what he said. I looked towards Jeremey to see if he had noticed what had happened but he was on his phone texting someone. The man walked away and sat down near the booth were Jeremey had been sitting.

"Well come on don't just stand there. I already ordered your chocolate chip cookie let's go sit. I have something to ask you" He said grabbing my hand.

I could barely walk. I practically had to beg my legs to take me forward as I followed Jeremey back to our spot. I sat facing the man and Jeremey had his back to him. The man would not take his eyes off of me threatening me with his pure gaze. I couldn't take it anymore and needed to get out of here so that I wouldn't put these people in danger.

I told Jeremey I would be back and that I had to go to the bathroom. The man seemed to shift in his seat reaching down to his gun getting ready in case I made a run for it. After seeing that I was headed in the direction of the bathroom he got comfortable again.

I pushed the door open and locked it behind me. I had to control my breathing and get a grip. Usually the girls in the movies don't make it because they let their emotion take control and I wanted to make it. I started to think.

What if I just drill a hole through the tile to the other side of the wall and escape? Yea sure, like you could do that with the eyelash curler in your purse inner me responded. What about climbing out of the window? UM NO, you can't the man would just take his anger out on the crowd.

I dug around in my purse to give myself more ideas. Of course you dumb bitch! I scolded myself as I saw my phone laying in there. I quickly dialed 911 because I had been taking too long and I didn't want the man to come and find me.

"911 what's your emer-"

I didn't let the operator finish and began, "This is Evangelica Grace, there is a man with a gun at Cafe Pari who threatened to kill everyone if I don't comply with him. Please send officers now." I half whispered this because even though I was almost sure the man was still out there I felt as though he could still hear me.

"All right ma'm stay calm. Officers will be there-" three knocks hit the door and I quickly hung up on the operator.

What do I do? Do I tell them someone is in here? What if it's the guy?

I swat away my internal battle and open the door. The man stood before me grabbed my waist and pulled me towards him. I felt a cool metal press against my stomach. The same spot as my scar.

"You were taking too long love bug. Wouldn't want you escaping now do we."

I stood still too scared to risk the chance of getting shot. It's not that I was afraid of death it's just that I had always hoped I would have died of old age or at least in my sleep rather than being shot.

"Now I am going to go back and you are going to tell that nerd of yours to fuck off. If you fail to do so I will kill everyone," He continued. He let me go and walked back to his table.

After I recollected myself there was nothing I could do but pray that the cops would show up soon and that I gave the operator enough details. I walked back to the nook and Jeremey looked up from his phone.

He gave me a quizzical look. "What's up Eva? It looks like you've seen a ghost. Don't tell me you're on your period," he groaned.

"No Jer I'm not. I just don't feel so good that's all. Um maybe you should go home. I have to take a phone call soon. I forgot I had a meeting with a coworker " I lied.

"But I wanted to ask you something. I think it's more important than that meeting."

"I can't Jeremey I really have to take this" I raised my voice a little because he was being so stubborn. I wanted him to get out of here.

"This is why you're not a good girlfriend sometimes Eva" he sighed standing up and leaving the Cafe.

One day I was feeling insecure and I asked him if I was enough and he told me I wasn't sometimes and so I always tried to be better but I saw now that he still thought the same of me.

The man walked up to me and sat next to me once Jeremey was no longer visible. He was about to say something when a chiming sound interrupted him.

I looked up towards the entrance of the Cafe only to be met with a god.

He wore an all black suit, his curly hair well kept and he sported a clean shave. He held out a gun pointed at the man in front of me and I could see his arm muscles through the sleeves. I met his eyes and immediately went into cardiac arrest.

This man had forest green eyes that entranced me. They had the slightest amount of golden specks. I had never seen someone with his colored eyes.

"Move and you're dead" he said. His voice was rough and deep but I could sense a softness to it.

I looked back towards the man in front of me who looked like he was about to wet himself, watching him as he shakily attempted to take out his gun.

BOOM!

I shut my eyes at the loud sound hoping that I would make it to tomorrow.
