When you returned I learnt of a fire,
Your friends bombarded me with questions,
They called me a liar.
As for you, you sat there alone at your table,
Look fragile, tired and not very stable.

You visited me only once again,
We sat there and talked about what happened there,
Your eyes didn't sparkle,
Your face didn't smile.

I'm guessing that my darling hasn't danced in a while.

I've finished the cabinet,
You would nod a smile.

If only I had told you the hold truth,
Maybe you would sit and talk for a while.
