"Oh shit! Richie cops!"

"Fuck! Lets go!"

"Eduardo, andele lets go!"

"Sorry we gotta cut this short Bev, we'll be back! Remeber, we weren't here, okay?"

Richie and I have been staying at Bev's for the last week. Cops have been creeping everywhere ever since me and Richie went 'missing'. It's not like I could let him go by himself, so I went with him. We sneak out the back and head for the fort that we've been building in the woods by the quarry so we could stay there just in case somethings going on at Beverlys house. We also stay with Bill sometimes but his parents would tell mom so we have to be careful.

"Don't fall" Richie says as I climb up the ladder.

"I wont" I make it to the top and he climbs up shortly after.

We lay down and look up at the sky.

"Look at that star" Richie says.

"Which one?"

"That one"

"Which one? Theres like a billion."

"That one" he says pointing at me.

I smile up at him and he smiles back.

"I love you cupcake."

"I love you too 'Chee."

"I think they went this way" I hear faintly from the woods. I back up against the wall and put my hand over Richies mouth so he doesn't talk.

"Richie! Eddie!"

I peak my head over, making sure no one can see me.

"They have a whole search team out there" I whisper.

"I'm going to check up here" someone begins climbing up the ladder.

Me and Richie scoot under the desk. I see Bills head peak in and I crawl out, putting my finger over my mouth.

"Shhh" he nods his head and shouts "we're all clear up here!"

"Thank you" I mouth to him.

He gives me and Richie a quick hug and then heads back down.

"I'm hungry" Richie says after everyone leaves.

"You just ate at Bevs though."

"I'm still hungry" he pouts.

I hand him a sandwich and he stops talking.

"Hey Richie?"

"Yes?" He says with a mouth full of food.

"When are we going back home? I hate being on the run all the time. I want to go back to school and see mom."

"You can go home whenever you want, no one's stopping you."

"You are Richie. I can't leave you, god knows what trouble you'd get into. Especially now that you've been diagnosed wi-"

"I'm not sick! I'm perfectly fine Eddie! I don't have a sickness. I'm normal just like everyone else."

"Okay Richie. Your normal, no sickness. I'm gonna go to bed, okay?"

"Okay whatever."

I lay down but I can't seem to fall asleep. I lay awake thinking about Richie and about what we're doing.
