Day 72
Evening

We arrived at the kingdom of Revellis around 19:00. It was a stunning place, and seemed to be far ahead in advancements compared to my home kingdom.

At the giant silver gates of the castle, we were greeted by a man with long, straight black hair and forest green eyes, and a couple of fully suited guards. Another pretty boy, like Luca!

"Welcome to the kingdom of Revellis, Prince Rowan."

"I appreciate you coming up to greet me personally. Your kingdom looks lovely, Prince Lichter." Rowan steps out of the carriage, and I follow.

Wait that's the prince?!

"Hello, your highness." I bow down. A little startled.

"Please put your chin up, beautiful."

His smile was very similar to Rowan's. It was somewhat grim yet charming.

"Come now, let us head inside." He continues.

It was quite the distance from the gate to the front door. When we were inside, I instantly fell in love with how extravagant the interior was designed. It reflects the culture of the Revellis. A rich country, rich economy. Social events were the front of newspapers and it was the best place to be for those that loved to perform.

"Have you both eaten yet?" Prince Lichter asked.

"Not yet, but we had a heavy lunch. You can take us to our rooms for now."

"Alright then."

Since the ball was still in another two days, until then we'll be staying here. The men carrying our stuff told us to follow them, and they led us to where we'll be staying while we're here. I got my own room, just as spacious as the one I have in the Quentin's castle.

"Are you going to be fine on your own?" Rowan asks me, before heading to his room.

"Of course. I'm not a child you know."

"Mmm fine. You can enter my room whenever though. If you want to come sleep with me instead that'll be fine too!"

I instantly grab the pillow on the bed and throw it at the prince. "I'd rather sleep on the floor!"

"Aww." He pouts at me. "I'll see you in the morning then. Have a good evening my love."

"You too." I mutter. The cocky prince shuts the door and leaves me to get rest.

After a warm shower, drying my hair and changing into sleepwear, I crawl onto the soft bed. It had silk bedding and it made me just want to sink into it for years.

Part of me was already wondering how everyone else was doing at the castle. I knew in the morning I'd be missing the banters and teasing everyone had. In such a short amount of time I grew to love them all so much.

I've never had a friend group, but since my younger teen years I had one friend who was named Eve. I often wondered if I could even consider her as a friend though, because I didn't know anything about her. She was just someone who was always with me and treated me with so much care, as if I was her child.

About a year ago, she suddenly disappeared. I wanted to find her but her background is as mysterious as her sudden disappearance. I don't know where she's from, where she lives, the things she does for fun.

The window suddenly flung open while I was reminiscing about that old friend of mine, and I feel chills crawl up my spine. I swear that window was closed tight-

A moment later, the comb I left on the desk suddenly fell off and the dimly lit candle was put out. "Eek!" I grip the silk sheets tightly deciding if I was going to stay here or rush to Rowan's room. I'd find somewhere else but I didn't want to shamefully roam around this castle not knowing where I'm going.

"Darn this!" I grab one of the pillows and hug it. "It'll be fine, it's not like anything is going to hurt me." I mumble into the pillow and the candle suddenly lights itself. "Nevermind!" I jump out of the bed still with the pillow in my arms and run to the prince's room which was right beside mine.

When I enter, I immediately lock sight onto the prince who sat on the bed shirtless, with only a towel covering his lower body. His hair was damp, and I quickly cover my flustered face with the pillow. "I-i'm sorry for entering without knocking! It's just... There were some things creeping me out in my room and I couldn't think of anything else but to come here."

"Is that so?" I hear his footsteps nearing me and he takes the pillow from my hand.

"Please put on some clothes Rowan..." I turn my head away from me refusing to look. Even though it was awfully tempting. The simpleton in me still lived on despite my unwillingness to marry.

But if I did I'd get to see this everyday.

"Why? You don't like what you see?"

I ignore him and his cockiness, and put the pillow down on the floor beside his bed. "I'll be sleeping on the floor. But if I muster the courage to return to the room I was given, I'll do that."

"Hmm." The prince returns to the bed and sits down. "I don't want you sleeping on the floor though."

"Too bad."

I lay down on the cold floor and lean my head against the pillow. It wasn't very comfortable but it'll do. "You know... You and prince Lichter have the same smile."

"That's upsetting to hear."

"Yeah? Now go put on clothes."

"I refuse."

"Tsk."

"What? I usually sleep shirtless."

"Okay then go put on pants!" I facepalm.

"Fine fine..." He gets up and I turn my head away to let him put on clothes.

This situation is extremely awkward.

"I'm done. You can look now."

"I still don't want to! You're shirtless."

The prince walks over to me, standing in front of my field of vision then taking a seat. "The ground is cold. You should sleep on the bed. I'll sleep on the floor instead."

"Rowan... You can't-"

"I won't be able to sleep soundly if the girl I love is sleeping on the cold floor." He smiles softly. "Besides, what was going on in your room?"

"The window flew open, my comb which wasn't even close to the edge of the desk fell, and the candle went out the lit itself!"

"Hmm." Rowan put his hand on his chin. "There's something I'll have to confirm tomorrow. But it could have something to do with your old friend."

"Eve?" I was just thinking of her when the weird series of events happened.

"Yes."

I didn't know whether I was more suprised with the coincidence that had occurred, or that Rowan knew about my "old friend." Stalker much?

"You know her?"

The prince's expression grew rather uneasy and he couldn't look me in the eye like usual. "We've done a lot today, you should get some sleep." He lifted me up into his arms and put me down on the bed.

"Rowan I don't want you sleeping on the floor." I frown. You're the prince for goodness sake. Half my mind was annoyed with how persistent this prince was, the other half wondering why he avoided talking about Eve. Could she have been the 'other rose scented individual' He was talking about during lunch? I mean Eve was the only other person that used to follow me around all the time.

Before I knew it, all the thinking caused me to fall asleep.
