"I can't believe you told your mom that I'm bi," Pete spoke with furrowed brows, his red eyes shifted down to Billy as his arms were crossed over his chest.
"And that we're all together," you added in, rolling her eyes at the presumption. Your cheeks tinted the slightest bit at your own words. "I don't even want to hear what my father's going to say."
"Your father?" Billy questioned curiously, something that neither of them had truly questioned in the nineteen or so years that you lived together.
"You're kidding," Pete chimed in, connecting the dots rather quickly. Out of those who had been there, and hadn't been openly gay, old enough to actually be your father, it was obvious. "Is he really?"
"Unfortunately enough," you replied with an eye roll, though you shifted your gaze over to the two. You recognized Billy's mother simply off of how similar she had looked to the man, and she had her arm around your father's arm. "Which makes your little lie all the more awkward, Billy."
"I didn't tell her any of that!" Billy complained, his hands moving as he spoke in exasperation. "I just didn't correct her. She sent us that china and the cyborg- White, you love that cyborg."
"So, this is Peter," Billy's mother said with a brilliant smile, and you must be Y/N! Peter's as handsome as you said he was, Billy."
"You said I was handsome?" Pete questioned curiously as the woman had been touching his shoulder.
Her hands quickly moved to you, getting right up in your personal space as she touched your face, a grin against her lips. "And Y/N is truly gorgeous as you said. You speak far more of Y/N than Rodney has. It's so nice to meet the two of you."
You would have questioned Billy if it weren't from the fact that you were speechless with how...close and personal this woman kept getting to you. Giving her a polite smile, you murmured a soft, "Thank you," before returning to Pete's side.
Pete must have sensed your discomfort, as one of his slender arms slipped around your waist, pulling him closer to you. The three of you stood, talking to Rose for a few minutes before your father joined the four of you, acting as if he were shocked to see you. It was...aggravating, to say the least.
"Father," you murmured with a forced smile, nodding to him in recognition.
The way Pete's arm wrapped tighter around your waist, pulled you even closer than before, seemed to calm you. Unfortunately, with Billy's inability to quell the imagination of his mother, the three of you were in a depth you would not understand quite yet. This depth simply ended in goodbyes after the funeral, and a sigh of relief.
"The two of you already look like you're dating," Billy pressed. "And it's not like we're going to see my mother often."
"I still think this is going to bite us in the ass," you replied with a shrug.
***
New York City was something that was supposed to be a positive for Conjectural Technologies, something that the three of you would find to be actually lucrative. The downside about New York City was the fact that the three of you were out of the trailer, and right into the lion's den. No matter how large of a home they owned, you were still moving in with Billy's mother, your own father, and Colonel Gentleman. Even if they had multiple rooms, the three still expected that the three of you would be sharing a bed.
No matter how much space the three of you would have, it had to be obvious that the three of you were a couple. This fact both terrified and nearly excited you, sans Billy. You loved the albino male to the moon and back, and faking your attraction to him was not something you needed to do. If Billy really wanted to press the situation, he had known for far over five years.
