A few days after the spar, and after getting treated for some wounds and broken bones, Cloud was back at home, relaxing and playing some video games. He didn't really have much to do at that point- his homework was done, he was getting ready to graduate, everything seemed to be going his way so far since he'd made amends with Zephyr. He could relax, and he no longer had nightmares so he was sleeping better than he had in a while.
The only concerning thing is that he was getting so relaxed, he had been spacing out more, and for longer points in time. It happened randomly too- one moment he would be working on something in the kitchen, he'd blink and suddenly he was down in the bakery serving customers. As far as he could tell though, the gaps weren't large, at most they'd be within minutes of each other, and at most it'd been about an hour. He wasn't too worried, he figured with was just a symptom of renewing the bond with your Drake. He'd ask Pebbles later if he ever had that issue.
After a bit, Cloud had gotten a text from Vickie, asking if he'd like to spend some time with them and the rest of the crew. Nothing to do but play video games, or go hang out with his friends?
Was that even a question?
The calico paused his game and saved it, kicking off of his desk chair and rushing to get ready before sending an "omw" text to Vickie. A part of him was nervous that something might go wrong while he was out with his friends, but he very quickly talked himself out of that, stating that he and his Drake were on good terms now and that things could be normal.
Everything would be fine!
The calico put his phone in his pocket and took off to where he was going to meet up with his friends. He had so much to tell them all, and he was so excited to tell them he was doing better!
He knew the direction of Vickie's house, so he let his autopilot take over for it.
But when he blinked, he had ended up on the wrong side of town. Confused, he looked at his phone. He'd been flying for 20 minutes, which is... Distressing, because their house is only 5 minutes by flight.
He needed to let Vickie know.
<Cloud>: hey i got lost :/
<Vickie>: wh. cloud how??
<Cloud>: guess i blacked out or smth. ill be there soon
<Vickie>: ok...
Cloud looked at Vickie's reply and furrowed his brows. Was there something wrong with getting lost? Well, he figured, since he knew where they lived it probably made no sense that he had gone the wrong way, especially if he had been flying. The idea that he had lost so much time just from trying to go to his friend's house left a pit in his stomach, but he shook it off and tried to actually focus on getting to her house.
Note to self: no more autopilot. I'm spacing out too much as is.
The cat finally made his way to his friend's house, after figuring out where he had ended up in the first place. It was nearby the clearing he had been to the other day, but a part of the area that he hadn't been near before. He knew how to get back to his house from here at least, so he took that route and went from there. This time, no blackouts, which was a good sign.
He finally got to Vickie's place, and she greeted him with a little hug.
"Cloud! Sure took you long enough to get here, huh! No worries- everyone's here, come come!" The kitsune pulled Cloud into the house, and he let out a little chuckle at her insistence on him coming into the house. She was pretty cheerful despite the worry in her last text, so maybe seeing him actually okay made her worry less. Good.
