The Sorting Ceremony
Harry was getting bored with just sitting at the table. The majority of the Gryffindor table had heard of the new exchange students who had yet to make an appearance, but so far Luna had managed to keep the information under wraps. The only reason other people knew about it, was because Ron wouldn't stop complaining about Nico di Angelo and how he had made Ginny fall in love with him by just waking up. Harry didn't think Ginny was in love. More like a crush. It was just a crush. Right?
Ron was was biased against Nico and was sure he would go to Slytherin. Hermione didn't see the logic in this because the only argument he gave was 'just look at him' which Hermione replied, 'I have looked at him Ronald, it's kind of hard not to,' Harry was still a little miffed about how Angelina and Ginny wouldn't stop asking Katie questions. Katie also didn't seem to like it.
"How many times do I have to tell you? He's just my friend!"
"Are you sure he's taken?"
"I was there when they kissed, and I was there when the entire camp was waiting for them to do so,"
Angelina sighed in defeat, "Well, at least there's still George."
Ginny snorted, "Come on, George's your second choice?""Okay, well if I had to marry a friend,"
"Yeah right, your friend,"
"He's your brother!"
"I'm aware of that," Ginny said, "Which is why you're not being threatened with a knife. I'm just going to threaten you with my voice,"
Angelina scooted away from her.Dumbledore (Harry had still not gotten used to the fact that he was alive) stood up with a wide smile. Harry couldn't help but notice he had an excited look in his eyes.
"Welcome students to another year at Hogwarts!" There was a loud cheer, "Welcome to the new students," the table turned to look at the flustered new additions to Gryffindor, "And welcome back our returning ones!" Dumbledore waved his wand in the air, for what, Harry had no clue, but the professors seemed to know.
"This year will be a little different from the rest - "
Many of the older students (especially the ones that were in Harry's year) let out a groan of disapproval.
"This year, we will be hosting three students from a different school," he continued, "I expect that will be treated with the utmost respect. Please do not start a fight with them, I have been informed that they have... quite the temper,"
Hermione stared at the man in shock. Did he just publically humiliate them before anyone even saw them?
"Now, coming from America, please join me in welcoming Thalia from the Hunt."
The girl walked in emitting confidence and power, and somehow she made Harry get the urge to bow. What the hell? Bow? She caught the attention of a lot of boys but none of them said anything as she walked up to Dumbledore, "Hey," Harry wasn't surprised at the casual tone of voice she used as she talked to one of history's most powerful wizards, about 98% of the school gaped at her. "Hello, Miss..?"
Hermione wondered how he didn't know his last name.
"Just Thalia,"
"Thalia it is then, welcome to Hogwarts,"
She looked around the Great Hall and muttered something that no one caught. Then she surveyed the students, and for some reason, glaring at every person of the male population. Hermione got the feeling that it wasn't an angry glare, just a 'mess with me and I'll end you' type of glare.
"Our second guest from America, Nico di Angelo of Camp Olympia,"He walked in with equal power, but less confidence. In fact, he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there. Ginny was staring at him with a lot of the witches doing the same. Ron grumbled that sounded something like, "Stupid fourteen year old," The ghosts eyes him cautiously as they hovered around the tables.
