Tonight I have planned a special dinner date, no just dinner for me and Prasanth. It's nothing REALLY, but we managed to get the whole presentation and speech done, and he wanted to the display practice at work but Siddharth suddenly called for a meeting so we could it do it, so we had to schedule to tonight. Harish was of course invited but refused, leaving just me and Prasanth.
This was not supposed to be a dinner date, more like a work dinner, I mean I can't leave him starving after he comes to my house, that's just not manners.
And in all honesty, I enjoyed his campionship, even as a friend he was someone I could talk to, lean on, and especially since we had many of the same interests whenever I speak to him time just flies.Yash has really been avoiding me lately, I keep calling him but everyday it's an excuse. Going to this party, uni exams and random excuses.
It's clear that he is not interested. And I know we are engaged, but I'm getting sick of begging and waiting around.
If anyone was in my shoes, surely they wouldn't like being the second option.Plus with Prasanth around I didn't feel lonely, whenever I would miss Yash I could pop Prasanth a text, and unlike Yash he would ALWAYS reply.
I know it might sound like I'm catching feelings but rest assured I am not, in fact whatever we have is just a close friendship. For the dinner/work practice/everything that's not a date I choose to wear a red silky tight dress. It's sultry but elegant so perfect for a dinner like this, plus I told Prasanth to dress up a little just so this practice can be a formal proper practice and it's a little fun so why not.
When Prasanth arrives I am always stunned.
He was dressed in a tuxedo shirt with plain pants truly looking professional.
"Looking dashing" I say sudictivly
"Could say the same about you" He laughs
"This is effortless" I gush
"Hmm this is quite the place" he says looking around
"Yeah no ones home today so it's just us" I explain
"Even better" He grins
I take him upstairs where we have kept our set up for the board.
"Should we just run through the whole speech?" I say
"Yup Im talking about Harishs lines though" He says with a wink
"Don't be funny this is very serious" I say sarcastically
"no I will do it sensibly" He says
"So here is something you have never seen before. A revolutionary invention made right here in this city" I say beginning our presentation
Prasanth lets a loud yawn
"Ummmm what will they think if my team mates yawning" I nudge cheerfully
"Just tired had to look after the little one since morning, and I tell you she wakes up real early, by the time I got her ready for school I was exhausted, that's why I was a tad late today" He explainsHim talking about her like that really left me feeling sentimental, making me feel as though I was living the easy life.
"You must be tired then let's have dinner" I say
"Now?" He reverts looking confused
"Yes now, I didn't make all this food for nothing" I laugh
"You cook?" He reverts
"Yes, why is that a shock" I giggle
"Nothing, just didn't take you as a traditional girl" He says
"You do not have to be tradition to cook" I state
"Your right, this is good though some day we can cook together, lemme tell you I do a mean fish curry" he boasts
"Is that so? not as much as what I am gonna give you now" I state walking into the kitchen" I say pulling him into the kitchen as he tags along my arm
"Yum the scents are exotic" he says impressed
"told ya" I giggle
"Who taught you this?Mum?" he asks
"Mum and dad, they both are amazing cooks, even my Aunty" I state
"Wow this is lit" He says taking a sip of my eggplant curry
"You like it?" I say
"Very much so" He says looking at me
Our eyes meet for a moment, and I suddenly feel like everything around me froze, it was just me and Prasanth, nothing else mattered
"Prasanth I- " I stammer
His warm hands touch neck, and his hands move up to my chin, pointing it upwards so I can see him
"No ifs or buts" He whispers
"I-I'm engaged" I mutter
"Tell the word and I will leave" He says
