I laid my chin on my right palm as Dazai started to discuss. I still feel a little bit embarrassed about what happened earlier. My Aunt said it was the story of our tribe. I also have a faint memory that my Mom used to tell me the story of the war between the Pure and Reds.
The last part of what I told them is true though. My Aunt was the leader of the Reds and the child of a Hunter and Red is me.
"It's like what (Y/N) told us. There was a gifted tribe back then. They're human, of course, but have a different way of living because of their beliefs. There were two factions on that tribe, the Pure, or more known as Hunters, and the Reds. The Pure tribe has been wiped out already, many years ago," Dazai started.
"The night where Q's ability affected the whole Yokohama, the Reds finally made their move after a long time of hiding in the dark. We all know that next month, there'll be a supernatural phenomenon that will happen to our sky, the blood moon."
"The blood moon for them is like a prophecy. Once the moon turns blood, they believe that they have an unlimited and unstoppable power since they claim that their ability is from the moon and can only gain their strength through drinking blood," he added.
He then showed a picture of a huge rock. I am familiar with that rock. It was the rock from the orphanage. Something was written on that rock but I can't understand it since it was written in another language.
"Et videtur luna in sanguinem statim a nativitate vetiti quod amore post, populus eius et conversus est color eius producat mundum," he read what was written on it. "This is a prophecy of their tribe. It says that when the blood moon appears once again after the birth of the forbidden love, its people shall bring its color to the world."
"The Lunam Amantes will turn the world into hell." We faced Kunikida. "The epicenter of their attack is here at Yokohama. They'll spread it here first before proceeding to other places. They only have a few numbers, and if we ask for the government's help, we can outnumber them."
"But defeating them won't be easy. Why, you ask?" he sighed before continuing. "Because they are inhuman and blinded by a false belief."
"But we should not worry, we still have our weapon," said Dazai. He threw a rock on the table. It was an irregular shape but it's almost square and the sides were around three inches.
"A rock?" I asked. They think they can defeat them with a rock?
"No, silly. It was the one written on it," I tried to read the letters on it but just like the words on the huge rock, I can't understand it. "Solum potestis prohibere qui enim non est filia duarum tribuum. The only one who can stop it is the daughter of the two tribes."
"Have you found the daughter of the two tribes?" I asked once again. They all looked at me with disbelief. I furrowed my eyebrows at them.
"You don't know?" asked Atsushi. I gasped when I realized it.
"Oh! It was me, right?" I said, still having a glint of uncertainty. Atsushi nodded at me. "How did you know?"
"It was the time when you collapsed in the hospital. I tried to use my ability on you but it didn't work. Because nullifying your ability to unleash the demon inside you means disabling your ability to seal it, too," he said. It seems like it was also the first time he told his workmates about it as they were surprised.
"A dual-ability user? I thought you knew it was her because you took the file of the Mafia about her?" Kunikida asked.
"Of course, it was one of it but only knowing about her parents isn't enough to know if she was really the one who can stop her own kind," Dazai answered. "The ability to turn into one of the Reds and the ability to hunt them down. That makes you the one who can stop them. You know how to defeat them, right?"
I smirked when he asked me that.
"After all, I didn't come to this city for no reason," I answered. "At first, I just thought of starting a new life here but when that curse haunts me once again, I know I can't ran away from it forever. Knowing what my ability really does, I already know what I should do and I choose to do it."
