Everyone was now ready for bed as the day came to a close. You were laying on your bed with a black hoodie and a pair of F/C pajama pants. You had taken a shower and you were just about ready for sleep. Totoro decided he was going to sleep with Ahri for the night and even the guinea pigs went to sleep earlier.

They were an odd addition to the house but it could be fun to have some more animals running around. Plus, they were adorable.

Some old R&B record played in the background as you laid on your back to look at the roof.

So many things have happened in such a short amount of time. Or, maybe this all began back when you were still a teenager. It was always hard for you to pinpoint when everything began to change. Was it when you met Ahri for the first time, got into that fight, joined the army, or even that God awful day that you never wanted to remember? You had no idea.

Suddenly, there was a knock on your door which caused you to sit up.

Y/N: Come in.

The door slowly opened and Ahri poked her head in.

Ahri: Hey.

Y/N: Hey. You need something?

Ahri nodded as she entered the room and closed the door behind her. Like you, she was dressed for bed with a pair of plaid pajama shorts and a black tee shirt which you recognized.

Y/N: Is that the shirt I gave you back in highschool?

Ahri looked down at the shirt that was once yours. She needed a quick change of clothes so you offered her the only Elvis shirt you owned.

Ahri: Uh, yeah. I use it for a pajama shirt.

You couldn't see her blush in the dark room but you heard the uneasiness in her voice.

Y/N: What's up?

Ahri stayed silent for a moment before she moved toward the bed. You sat up and made room as she sat next to you. It was silent for a moment as she took everything in.

Ahri: This kinda reminds me of the old days. When we would sit and talk.

You smiled at the memories.

Y/N: Yeah. Then we would get yelled at for waking up late.

Ahri laughed.

Ahri: Remember when you had to sneak through my window to leave before my grandma came in?

Y/N: I ended up having to jump. She was old but that chick moved fast.

You both began to laugh at the thought. It was rare, but there were times you ended up sleeping at her place or she would sleep at yours. The conversations you used to have were always something your cherished. But now, things were different. You stood by what you had said. Things could never go back to the way they were. Not completely anyway.

That became evident when the laughter died and you were once again left in silence. It almost became deafening as you felt Ahri move slightly.

Ahri: I'm sorry.

You didn't look up.

Y/N: It's not your fault. It was my choice.

Ahri moved so that she was now on her knees as she looked at you with tears in her eyes already.

Ahri: That you wouldn't have made if I didn't....

Y/N: I didn't do it because of you.

Ahri went silent as she looked at you. She suddenly noticed you were looking toward the record player.
