Chapter 3-2:Spy Mission and the Mostro Lounge

The next day, it was time for us to get going with the mission. First stop, the music room.

"Lalalala~" Azul was harmonizing with an unknown melody. His voice made me think of a voice altering potion. It sounded fake to me.

Next stop, animal languages.

Azul was meowing and Lucius meowed back. Azul nodded. "Ah, I see. According to Lucius, the last treat Mr.Trein gave him was three hours ago."

Mr.Trein nodded. "As expected of you Ashengrotto. That is correct."

That made me raise my haunches. I don't know why, but that also seemed fake. I mean, I wouldn't know. The most Lucius has told me was to take a shower to get the dog smell off of me. I was highly offended so we both started arguing. I won the argument.

Next stop, alchemy.

"A beluga whale's tooth, a sturgeon's egg, scales of an aurora moth, and mermaid tears.... blend in 120 seeds of medicinal herbs and extract them. *POOF!* I have perfected it! If you drink this potion, you will be able to turn a part of your body into an animal's." Azul said proudly.

Crewel seemed pleased, but I sensed wariness. Aunt Hel must've told him about my suspicions. "Good boy! This is a potion you'll see in your 3rd year. The rest of you puppies should do well to follow Ashengrotto's example."

I watched Azul with boring eyes. Why does the guy make me feel antsy? If I make a deal with him, what will he ask of me?

Final stop, the cafeteria.

Azul was grabbing lunch. "Some squid ink spaghetti and some fried food. Ah! But, that would ruin my diet so I better take some vegetables as well."

I grumbled under my breath. I was thanking every star in the sky that Professor Crewel was text pals with my aunt. It seemed like she had told him about our talk. I watched Azul leave before turning to Ace and Deuce who seemed sore. They must've been put through hell. I clicked my tongue and turned to where Mother was hiding. She seemed just as worried. Then, my eye caught something. It was the twins.

Jack heard me growling beside him and turned to where I was looking. The carefree twin, Floyd was looking at the anemones. "Ah, look at the sea of anemones!"

My eye twitched as Jade and Floyd took notice of me. Jade bowed to me. "Honored to speak with you in person Miss.von Fenris. My name is Jade Leech and this is my brother Floyd."

Floyd shot me a grin and I just rolled my eyes. Jade straightened up. "Would you like to get rid of the anemones? If so, come to the Mostro Lounge tonight. We'll be waiting."

The twins chuckled before walking off. I growled in their direction. Dang they infuriated me too much. I spat curses under my breath before shaking my head. I needed to go to the Mostro Lounge. If I didn't, then the students will still be under Azul's control. I need to go there.

Jack and I arrived at the Mostro Lounge. My mother was under an invisibility spell so no one could see her. Jade and Floyd went up to us. Jade, as usual, had that gentlemanly aura that made me puke. "Welcome. Is this your first time dining with us?"

I nodded my head to avoid a conflict. "Is Azul free right now? I would like to talk to him about the anemones."

"Azul is busy at the moment. May I explain the rules now?"

"You may do just that. It would be selfish of me to say no and expect to dine."

"I see. Well then. Octanvielle is a gentlemanly area. Please refrain from fighting with those from other dorms. Also, anyone has to adhere to Octanvielle's rules when dining. Any questions?"

"Just one."

"Ask away."

"Why do you smell salty?"

"Salty? What are you getting at?" Jade seemed nervous.
"Like ocean salt. It rolls off you two and hits my nose." I stated bluntly.
"Hm? Oh, I forgot. Well, to sate your curiosity, we are mermaids." Jade hummed.
"Interesting." I mused.
"Is that all?" Jade asked. I nodded. Jade called over Ace and Deuce.

Ace and Deuce winced at getting pulled over. I placed a hand on Jade's. "May I ask that you refrain from that action? It makes me uncomfortable."

I then retracted my hand. Jade seemed to pierce me with his gaze. Finally, he nodded. "Of course. My brother and I will serve you until Azul is free."

"Lovely. Please escort my friend and I to a table."

"As you wish."

Jack seemed extremely confused, but followed along with what I was doing. Once we were seated, Floyd handed us two menus. I scanned it over before turning to Jade. "I would like some chamomile tea. Jack?"

Jack sighed. "Same here."

The two nodded and we handed them our menus. Jack turned to me. "How did you do that?"

I feigned innocence. "Do what?"

"The persuasion. You were smirking and managed to persuade those two with a straight face."

"I'm Loki's grandchild. I inherited his silver tongue. I also have my siren hypnosis so I can get what I want when I want it."

"Why am I not surprised? The scent thing was that......?"

"Also false. I can't smell some faint scents. Paint and oil from a few meters away though....."

"Oh. You may as well be a professional liar."

"Only to them. They're the target and I have to get whatever information I can get my hands on."

"Uh-huh. Oh, they're coming back!"

True to word, the Leech twins arrived and set the tea in front of us. I smiled as I took a sip of tea. I recoiled at the pleasant taste at first, but it was amazing. After another sip, I set the glass down. "Is Azul still busy at the moment?"

Jade nodded. "Unfortunately, yes he is. Don't worry about that right now and enjoy your tea."

I pursed my lips, but chose not to speak. I didn't have much of a choice at the moment. I had to be patient. So, I calmly sipped my tea and waited.

-Meanwhile, Third Person POV-

Azul didn't like the meeting he arranged. The student sighed. "My other request is for you to help Prefect von Fenris notice me!"

Azul almost snapped his pen at that. "I'm sorry?"

"I know it's a bit much but-"

"A bit? This is a godling we are talking about and you expect me to help you?"

"I know. I just-"

"Let the woman notice you before you say anything again. The matter is closed. You may go now."

The student scurried away while Azul shook his head. Greedy person for wanting someone powerful to notice them. Azul wasn't going to let anything of that sort happen.

-Back to Vermillion-

"Azul finished with his client. You may see him now."

I finished my tea and stood up. Grim had been safely deposited with my mother and Jack was at my side. I felt the words of Katherine's letter burn into my mind.

'Don't give him what he demands. Give him the dorm.'
