"It's a Stone Talus!" Shouted Bazz and Gaddison at Link as the giant rock monster approached the four year old Hylian boy. Awestruck for just a moment, Link ran underneath its legs as fast as he could, he was short and that definitely helped his cause. He drew his bow and notched and arrow in place. Finally he drew and released an arrow that cleanly hit the rock monster's Achilles heel, it was a growth on its rocky body where ore would be desposited. The rock monster twitched in pain, Link shot three more arrows into its ore deposit, the Stone Talus finally averted its attention from the brigade, and the domain for that matter, to Link.
Link took advantage of this and led the Stone Talus away. The rest of the Big Bad Bazz Brigade began crying out, "Link!! What are you doing?!"
"He's saving us." Rivan said, his adrenaline pumping.
"We're not helpless," said Bazz.
"And we don't need saving." Added Gaddison.
They all looked at each other and shouted "let's go!" And with that they charged towards the area where Link had ran off to with the Stone Talus.
"Link!" Shouted Rivan from behind the Stone Talus. "You've got some more of those arrows?"
Link nodded as he was dodging the boulders that the Stone Talus would hurl at him. He counted about ten arrows and threw them underneath the Stone Talus. Rivan drew his Zora bow and landed another shot on the rock monster, right in the sweet spot. The Stone Talus then changed its direction towards Rivan and the rest of the brigade.
They all began backing up as the Stone Talus was beginning to charge. Rivan tossed the quiver and bow to Bazz who was to the right of him and attempted to get its attention by attempting a shot at the ore deposit. He missed by a lot but at least the Stone Talus was now charging towards him.
"Bazz!! Jump to the left!!" Shouted Gaddison as the Stone Talus was getting ready to hurl a boulder at him.
Bazz jumped with barely enough time before he was a rock sandwich. He landed in a bush with nothing but simple scrapes from tree branches on his abdomen. Bazz didn't feel anything due to the adrenaline.
"You've got any other ideas you guys?!" Asked Bazz continuing to back up from the charging Stone Talus.
The Stone Talus almost hurled another boulder at the dark skinned Zora before it started turning around and flailing its arms wildly. "Is that.."
Said Bazz as he made out a familiar figure on top of the Stone Talus. It was Link! He was on top of the Talus hacking and slashing away at the ore deposit on the Talus' head. Bazz and the others were cheering from below, how crazy is this Hylian, everyone thought.
Gaddison found a small cliff side and decided to climb it, gaining some height to jump onto the Stone Talus as well. Link noticed and threw his skyward facing sword to Gaddison so she could catch it. Link used finally jumped from the Stone Talus and just before he hit the ground, he shot another arrow into its deposit. Time seemed to slow down as he did it, he was conscious of every move right up to the arrow's release.
The Talus was getting exhausted but it kept its direction towards where it was being shot from.
"Now!" Cried Link to Gaddison, the pale violet Zora jumped onto the Stone Talus and began the same assault that Link did prior.
"Aw man!" She cried. "No fair you get to have all the fun!"
Link smiled at this, the Talus's reaction to Link's assault was much of the same, flailing its Boulder-like arms about.
"Do you still have arrows?" Asked Rivan.
"I have two left. Can you shoot it when Gaddison gets off?" Asked Link. Rivan nodded in agreement. Gaddison was buying the crew some time but she could only hold on the crazed monster for so long, on top of slashing the ore deposit on its head. Link knew he had to make a cunning plan quickly. He remembered the Zora spear. Bazz was holding onto it for the longest time.
