A wolf in sheep's clothing
I was cast out and
Alienated
But you watched it happen
Day after day
I drifted apart from
My mother;
My father;
I was losing myself
I didn't realize what you were
The day that you told me
You loved me
I thought you were genuine
And broken
And that I could somehow
Someday
Fix you
I was wrong
I didn't realize that you were
Someone else
Something else
A plague;
A distraction;
Pulling me to my death like
A stone tied to my feet
I didn't realize that you were insane
The day you tried to
Pull me out of the
Middle school gym during
Play practice
Ranting about fantasy and
A place we could hide and never be found
I didn't realize then what you were
But I know now.
