Three weeks goes by.

Annabeth’s dad got put in jail and Percy, Thalia, and Jason were helping her move to a new house.

"You know, this is a pretty sweet place," Jason said, putting a picture on the mantel above an electric fireplace.

"Yeah, its pretty." Thalia was putting away kitchen stuff.

Annabeth was in the living room, setting up  the bookshelf while Bobby and Matthew played with Legos. "I'm just lucky to have a roof over my head. You're dad actually saved my life," she said.

"Hey, he loves you as much as he loves me," Thalia said.

Jason snorted. "Probably more. Thalia is... hard to have around sometimes."

Thalia threw a cardboard box at him. "You better watch it over there," she warned.

Percy rolled his eyes. "Y'all are such siblings."

;;;

After everyone else went home, Percy stayed for dinner. He helped Annabeth make hamburgers in her new kitchen.

"Did you get the email?" he asked her as he sliced the tomatoes.

Annabeth's eyebrows furrowed. "What email?"

He fished his phone out his front pocket. Goddamn guy pockets. They could hold a tiny elf family.

He showed her the screen.

"Oh my god," Annabeth whispered. "Oh my god! We passed! I have my 4.0!"

For the first time since Percy met Annabeth he heard her squeal. She threw her arms around his neck.

“See? I’m not as dumb as I look," he said, wrapping his arms around Annabeth's waist. He kissed her forehead.

Annabeth grinned. “Guess I was wrong about you, Cloud Macchiato.”
