Following Morning...
Your POV
Justice had managed to sleep the entire night, but she wasn't leaving my side. She sat in the living room with her cousins and Mardi, who was keeping her calm like always. Syd and I made breakfast.
"Did she sleep through the night?" Syd asked and I nodded.
"She slept the entire time, but I had to be holding her," I said and she nodded.
"Mama, is breakfast almost done?" Justice asked me.
"Almost, baby. Can I ask you a question?" I asked her and she nodded looking up at me.
"Your mom has a new boyfriend, right? Have you met him?" I asked kneeling down to her level.
"Yeah, but mommy said I can't tell you," she mumbled. I looked at her eyes and watched the fear starting to build up in them.
"Baby? Is it- It's not Nathan, is it?" I asked her and she slowly nodded.
"You're telling the truth, right, my baby?" I asked her and she nodded again.
"I'm telling the truth, mama. I promise. He comes to the house when mommy thinks I'm asleep," she replied and I groaned.
"Is that why you've been having nightmares? Have you seen him? Like talked to him?" I asked.
"One time. It was when I was getting up to get some water and he was in the kitchen. He said hi and I ran back upstairs to hide underneath my bed," she said and tears started to build up in her eyes.
"Baby, come here," I said opening my arms. She wrapped her small arms around my neck and I wrapped mine around her body. I stood up and held her. Janelle texted saying that she was on her way to get Justice, but I wasn't letting that happen at all.
"Kids, breakfast is ready," Syd said.
"You ready to eat, baby girl?" I asked Justice and she nodded. Her stomach growled making me chuckle. She giggled and wiggled out of my arms. The kids all sat down. Syd and I made their plates.
"Thank you," the four kids said in unison. They ate, but I had no appetite whatsoever. I made sure Mardi didn't over eat like he always tried to. Once they finished eating breakfast, they were in the living room playing the switch. I heard a knock on the door and I knew it was Janelle. I opened the door and stood there pissed off.
"Is Justice ready?" she asked me.
"No, because she's not going with you."
"Y/N, what are you talking about?" she asked.
"You left your daughter on her birthday to go see about some nigga. She's not going with you."
"That was a mistake. I lost track of time," she replied.
"Janelle, who's the guy you've been seeing?" I asked her.
"That's none of your business."
"Janelle, answer the damn question," I said.
"Mama," Justice said I could feel her wrap her arm around my leg.
"Yes, baby?" I asked her and she frowned when she saw Janelle. Justice slowly hid behind my legs and peeked out a little to see Janelle.
"Janelle, who is he?" I asked her and she looked down at the ground. She didn't say anything.
"It's Nathan, isn't it?" I asked her.
"Yes, Y/N. It's him. Fuck!" she said throwing her hands up.
"Why would y-"
"I fucking love him. That's why."
