"one, two, three!" alex whacked his wooden drumsticks together as everyone got into place.

"take off, last stop! countdown till we blast open the top!" luke moved, not missing a single beat.

"face first, full charge! electric hammer to the heart!" everyone was visibly sweating, putting all their energy into getting their performance absolutely perfect.

luke side glances y/n as she swayed to the beat, a microphone in hand.

"clocks move faster cause it's all we're after now. oh!" alex and reggie sang as bobby strummed his guitar like his life depended on it.

"won't stop climbing!" luke nodded his head, signalling reggie to share his mic. "cause this is our time, yeah!"

"when all the days felt black and white," y/n joined in, giving it her all. "those were the best shades of my life!"

"don't look down!" the band sang together, and goddamn, did they sound flawless. "cause we're still rising up right now!"

"and even if we hit the ground," y/n went directly in the middle, before singing by herself, stealing the show. "we'll still fly! keep dreaming like we'll live forever!"

"but live it like it's now or never!" luke moved closer to y/n as she met him in the middle.

"we ain't searching for tomorrow!" alex kept the beat while singing, just like he was born to do.

"tomorrow!" reggie moved closer to the mic, showing off his powerful voice.

"cause we got all we need today!" alex continued, as luke strummed his guitar as y/n moved her body to the beat, mesmerising luke.

"today!" reggie could feel the tension between his two band mates from where he was standing.

"living on a feeling that's been running through our veins," y/n held her microphone in-between her and luke as they sang in unison.

"we're the revolution that's been singing in the rain!" running a hand through his soft hair, reggie sang so everyone could hear.

"don't look down!" the five of them clapped, keeping a beat. "cause we're still rising up right now!"

luke flipped his guitar around his torso, sending y/n a cheeky wink her way as the smoke machine started right on cue.

"cause we're still rising up right now!" luke let his guitar swing by his side as he pulled y/n in by her waist. their chests touching the others before luke picks up his instrument once again and backed up. "and even if we hit the ground, we'll still fly!"

"keep dreaming like we'll live forever but live it like it's now or never!" as the song came to a close, the five gave it their all to make it their best show yet, even if it was still just a sound check.

"it's now or never!" luke and y/n held the note.

"now or never!" luke, bobby and reggie joined in as they played the final notes.
