the four land directly on top of the orpheum, the place they would've played if three of them didn't die that night. luke was still clutching y/n's hand, his coat wrapped tightly around her.
"huh?" reggie looked down below him.
"the orpheum?" y/n looked at the bright sign just above their heads.
"hey," luke lightly hits alex. "i know being dead isn't our first choice, but, i mean, it sure is easy getting around."
"easy for you, maybe." reggie says from besides y/n. "i lost my shirt on that one." after the words came out of his mouth, his plain, white t-shirt was back on. "ooh, never mind! there it is."
the other three laugh together, just like they did when they were alive.
"okay, so," alex began. "why'd you bring us here? just another painful reminder of where we never got to play."
"or where i found all your dead bodies and vowed to never be happy again?" y/n smiled sarcastically and nudged luke.
"right, yeah, nearly forgot about that, sorry, y/n/n." luke chuckles awkwardly.
"thanks, luke." alex pats his chest.
"i mean, boys," he turns to y/n. "babe, that game isn't over yet." the group emits back to the ground and start to walk past the entrance of the orpheum. "i'm telling you, we've been given a second chance. let's find some music. let's see how many clubs we can hit before sunrise."
alex began to walk through a man wearing a long cloak, but instead ran right into him. alex and y/n turned back to look at him in pure curiosity. "hey!" alex said as the man gave y/n a knowing look and smirked at her.
y/n slowly let go of luke's hand, but he was way too invested in telling reggie his plan, as alex began to catch up to the other two, leaving y/n behind.
"mr. mariposa..." she muttered to herself as a flash of a man, sitting behind a clean desk flashed before her. "no way-"
"hey, y/n/n. you coming?" luke snapped her out of her thoughts. she quickly turned around and smiled. "you alright?"
"wh- yeah, yeah, of course. i was just thinking." she walked back up to luke, as he reached out for her hand which she accepted.
"let's go!" reggie cheered, skipping down the road.
the next few hours were chaotic to say the least, they went from club to club, hearing and experiencing all kinds of different music, but as the sun rose once again, they returned back to the molina studio.
the four of them stood behind their new friend, playing the piano like a professional.
"look out, look inside of you."
julie molina was a liar. she could sing amazingly. her voice even made y/n feel the slightest bit of envy, but her jealousy was overpowered by happiness. this poor girl she had only recently connected with, was finally coming out of the dark. and y/n never felt so proud in her entire afterlife.
"when you feel lost relight that spark, time to come out of the dark." julie slowly stopped playing. "wake up."
y/n couldn't take her eyes off of her, and she was sure the boys couldn't either.
