Shift (On Hold)

Chapter 3

"Hey Avada, why don't you guys sit with us today?" Kamren says as we walk in to the caffeteria. I look toward madison to see if thats okay with her then we follow Kam and his friends to their usual table. he sits down and pats the seat beside him as if he wants me to sit there, beside him! I take my offered seat blushing madly. "hey so how has your second day been so far?" Kamren says while i'm trying to cool off my face. 

"It was okay, I guess. I officially hate Mrs. Pennywether though." i say when I can finally gather myself together.

"why" someone, Benttley I think, replies sarcastically. " oh, no reason only the fact that she gave me the devil's stink  eye when I tried to tell her how I got my answer" I reply just as sarcasticly. as I did not expect everyone busts out laughing saying things like"ohhh" and "burn." even Kamren starts laughing, which has me blushing again. darn, I mean I know he's cute and hot and all but why an I blushing this bad. I mean I hardly even know him, I just met him for pete's sake.

When I'm done with my internal rant I look up to find that we are the only people left in the caffeteria. "guy's I hope that you know that if we don't leave now we are sooooo going to be late for class" i say.

They all finally stop laughing and look around realize what I just told them, that we are the only one left and are about to be late. "what class do you have next?" kam asks me. i pull out my schedule and see that I have Gym next period. "I have Gym next, I think." I reply.

"cool so do I, we can walk together. Let's go" he says standing up and grabbing his trash and backbag. we walk over to the trash can and throw our trash away.

when we get to the girls locker room he says bye and walks into the boys locker room to change for gym. I turn around and walk into the locker room, change, and walk back into the gym. I see Kam talking with some Guy in the corner.

"hey how's it goin?" I ask 

"oh hey Avvie, Steve this Avada she's one of Madi's friends. Avvie this is Steve he's a family friend" he told em.

we couldn't say anymore because Mr. Ride called us to order and told us to pair up for one-on-one basketball. "will you be my partener" Kam asks me. "I would love to" I say with a laugh. we played basketball that went soething like this: me blocking his shots and him blocking mine. at the end of gym neither of us had scored any points.

At the end of the day he see's me in the parking lot and run's up to ask me if he can show me around the town and maybe get some dinner after. I tell him that I would be delighted if he would.

"I'll pick you up around 5. Is that okay?" he asks.

"yea that would be great" i say then hop in my car and drive home.
