pleasent surprise - Draco Malfoy

You joined Hogwarts during 5th year as you had been studying at another school before your family moved closer to Hogwarts , therefore making you have to transfer here , you didn't mind too much due to the fact of your old school being much more strict and extremely difficult to pass exams most of the time , you had heard Hogwarts was far more relaxed and easier.
You had been sorted into Slytherin and you were sent to your dorm as it was late in the night , however when you were lead to the dorms you noticed your guide wasn't stopping , you approached a black door and was told to take the stairs up to your dorm , strange.
You did as you were told and you arrived in a room much larger than the other dorms , there was one other bed besides yours and you noticed all your furniture was new , even
stranger.

"Yes yes you can quite drooling , im not interested in you" you heard a smug and snooty voice of a boy call out from the other side of the room as he got up from his bed with a hateful look.
"I didn't even see you until now" you shrugged and went over to your trunk to unpack some of your things before you felt a firm tap on your shoulder.
You stand up and turn around to face the boy again slightly annoyed at the tap and rude tone in his voice , he had platinum blonde hair that was quite unusually messy , his skin was milk white and looked cold to the touch against his jet black suit that looked quite expensive. He had a permanent scowl on his face as you could see the faint lines and wrinkles where he uses the expression so often.

"Let's get one thing straight. This was MY room before you came along. I don't like you , I don't want you here , so do me a favour and pretend you don't even exist" you scoffed at his entitled bratty attitude and rolled your eyes , putting down the clothes in your hands you turned back to him with your hands on your hips , glaring at him.
"I couldn't give a damn about how you feel about me being here. I worked my ass off in my other school and I can assure you that I could beat your scrawny little ass at anything." His eyes widened , not in fear but genuine shock that anyone would DARE speak to him this way , he balled his hands into fists as he stomped his foot on the floor and left the room like a child not getting what they wanted.

The next few weeks of school were perfectly fine , you had made a few friends here and there , you were top of your classes as you had already learnt all these things at your old school. You learnt your room mates name was Draco Malfoy , not that you cared but you were told he had a reputation at being a bratty stuck up daddy's boy. Obviously you were surprised to here this.
The holidays were coming up and you decided to stay at Hogwarts instead so your parents could go on holiday together for there anniversary , you had heard that Malfoy was staying too and you couldn't care less until you found out you two were the only Slytherin's staying for the holidays , oh well you'll just avoid him.
You woke up and went to go open the door to the dorm and go for breakfast , however the door handle shocked your hand with how cold it was and the handle refused to turn. You tried again but nothing happened , you looked around the door frame and relaised it was covered in ice , a wave of dread flooded over you as you picked up a note that was slid through the door , it read "dear students , we are sorry for the inconvenience but some of the doors have been frozen shut , we are trying to defrost them at once but there could be a few hours delay" you rolled your eyes and threw the note in the bin to the side , you turned around to walk back to bed when you collided with something solid , you looked up slightly to see Draco glaring at you.
"Watch where your going and get out of the way" you took a step back and crossed your arms partly to be stubborn and the other part because it was freezing , the air was frosty and you were wearing shorts and a simple t-shirt , you shivered slightly but tried to hide it.
Suddenly Draco moved forward and pushed you up against the door , you squeeked slightly as the icey surface collided your your bare skin , you gave you a weird look before putting his hand against the door and relaised it was frozen shut.
"Damn it. Now I'm stuck with you" he rolled his eyes and went over to his bed and flopped on it with a annoyed sigh.
"I'm not even that bad , you just don't know me. Besides if anyone has the right to complain it's me , stuck up daddy's boy." He sat up quickly in his bed and he looked offended.
"You don't know anything about me either. You wouldn't call me that if you knew me." He suddenly went quiet and stared at the floor , refusing to look anywhere else. You realised that you had said something wrong and that he wasn't offended and entitled but instead he was thinking silently to himself with a blank expression.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to say the wrong thing" he looked up at you and have a faint smile before it faded and was replaced with a fake annoyed look.
"Who cares. Just don't talk to me anymore" he turned away so his back faced you , you silently walked over and slowly sat next to him as to not scare him and possibly get hit by him in surprise.
"I am sorry Draco. We may not get along but I really didn't mean to upset you" he kept his back to you as his arms were wrapped around his own waist , he sniffled and you just wanted to hug him.
"Draco, I'm going to hug you...is that okay?" He nodded stiffly as you wrapped your arms around his waist from behind and leaned your head on his back.
You two probably stayed like that for a while before he slowly turned around and wrapped his arms around your shoulders and hugged back.
"Everyone calls me that....they don't know the truth behind it all....I'm no daddy's boy" he said slightly cold at the last part as you guess he must not have a good relationship with his father after all.
"He doesn't deserve you" Draco's grip tightened as you could feel him smile at your comment.
Maybe he wasn't so bad after all. What a pleasant surprise.
