"There has been an increase in crimes since early November, the police have yet to discover the source of this situation and haven't responded to further claims that they do not know who or how this situation started" the reporter stated through the big screen, there sat a man keeping his eyes focused on the projection in front of him.
His mind & body focused on the news, there was no doubt he was procrastinating about the issue but it had to be the first priority. The door of his office suddenly cracked open revealing a suited figure "I'm glad you agreed to meeting, Agent 423" The man spoke, not taking his eyes off the screen.
"Anything if it's as important as it sounds, and judging from your tone, it must be really important" the figure sighed putting his suitcase down on the hard ground. The man gestured for him to sit, as he did allowing himself to relax on the soft cushion, the figure sighed once again crossing his legs as he asked "What are your intentions?".
"The crimes, they've increased incredibly much, you are a highly respected and secretive agent, your title can be very useful to us with this case, if you could just-"
"What's in it for me?" The agent asked crossing his arms at the man, the man grinned pulling out a suitcase and inside it was a stack of cash. The agent looked at it unamused and spoke in a nonchalant tone "I have no need of these riches" the elderly man frowned putting the case down with a sigh, he stared at the agent hoping to find a way to convince him.
"What will satisfy you?" The man asked in a begging tone.
"We'll see"
"Did he agree to it captain?" A squad member asked as he and other members surrounded their higher up, the chief sipped on his coffee muttering "Not yet" he replied, the lower ranks frowned and lost hope of eventually solving this issue. They've devoted their time away from their families just to focus on their work which was pretty stupid if you think about it. but then again, the criminal they were handling was also one of a kind.
They thought today was gonna be the final day of all the devotions, looks like they were wrong "Now don't lose hope, I assure you he will agree to this" the higher up said trying to keep at least some of their hopes up.
The door suddenly slammed open revealing another member of the special operations squad "SIR WE GOT A LETTER" she announced handing him the letter, the members gathered around once again to read the letter along side him.
I accept your offer, but I'll need something in return after I finish the case.
-agent 423The squad members cheered in joy upon knowing they could finally rest after days of hard work, although they worked hard, they had done nothing useful towards the case when it came to finding any info, and now they relied on a professional
"Silence" the captain ordered making the other members shut up for a good minute or two, the captain gestured for them to all go outside. They frowned but followed his gestures leaving the room immediately, in hopes of not angering the captain further.
The captain stood up looking outside the window taking a look of his once beautiful & peaceful city, in all honesty. Not all cities are beautiful nor peaceful, depending on the issues it's facing and the people in it, it's hard to call a city both. There's always gotta be something that ruins it all.
He sighed and muttered under his breath.
"We've got you now"
